So Where To Now?

So after today, when MCR plays their final BDO show in Perth, the tour page (and they themselves) says that there is no shows in the foreseeable future. Frank called the show in Melbourne on Tuesday "their last DD headline show".

Where do you think they're going to go next? Hopefully some time off to begin with! But then, with the serious business of album making and a new tour.... what do you think's going to happen? MCR always seem to be good at surprising us; going one way when we think they definitely going to head another...

Thoughts?

Is the album dead?

Just had a thought, it might be completely random and also wrong but I was just wondering what you thought.

In a (wrong) review of MCR's Wembley Arena show today in Kerrang! magazine it said "their slowly selling 'Danger Days' album" and apart from making me see red, it also made me think...

You can't judge the success on a band by their album sales anymore. Half of people pirate their music or borrow it from their friends. The only people who you can be a 100% sure are going to buy the album are the fans and we're not an inexhaustable force! I mean, you can't even compare it to 2006's 'The Black Parade' because the way music is bought or gotten hold of has changed so much in four-and-a-bit years.

The way music is bought/attained is a changing beast and I think it's about time some music publications realised that they can't judge the success of a band on album sales alone.
