Still Reeling and Starstruck...

It's not every day you see one of your favourite rock stars and a Hollywood star in your local supermarket, especially where I'm from, in Devon, England. Thus I am still reeling and starstruck from last night when I was so up close to Matt Bellamy from Muse and saw Kate Hudson with him later on.

I was actually very reluctant to go grocery shopping with my mom at our local Tesco supermarket in Newton Abbot, as I didn't feel like going out. At the store, as usual, to save time, we each took a trolley to browse the store separately.

Everyone in the UK...Please Say 'NO' to GCHQ!!!

What the coalition government headed by David Cameron is planning is incredibly terrible, and wrong and, and not only will it be a huge violation of the right to privacy for everyone in the UK, it will also undermine the government's commitment to human rights, and totally contradict the country's own Human Rights Act 1998...

There are now plans for a major expansion of the government's powers to monitor email exchanges and website visits of everyone in the UK. Under legislation expected in next month's Queen's Speech, internet providers will be instructed to install hardware enabling GCHQ- the government's electronic "listening" agency- to examine "on demand" any phone calls made, text message and e-mail sent, and website accessed, in"real-time" without warrant.

Advice Needed: What is the Definition of a 'Fan'??

I actually already had a bit of a discussion with a friend, and her view was that one can only be called a 'fan' of a certain band or anything else if s/he knows pretty much everything about that certain thing...and I agree with that.

I find it really irritating and annoying when someone calls him/herself a fan of a band when s/he only knows one song, and this was what happened with one friend of mine. As long as I've known her, she has always been only a fan of pop and R 'n' B music like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Usher, but I was recently surprised by her saying that she's a fan of Within Temptation and 'that band' which I later learned to be Queen.

PETA v. SeaWorld

I am writing this in response to a news article I've read that PETA brought an action on behalf of five orcas--- Tilikum, Katina, Kasatka, Corky and Ulises, against the two branches of SeaWorld from Orlando, Florida and San Diego, California.

The action was brought on the ground of slavery, and PETA argued that the orcas should have the same constitutional rights as humans.

As much as I love animals, and I can understand PETA taking an action. However, I do believe they have missed the fact that Tilikum has been linked to three deaths, e.g. in February 2010, he drowned his trainer in front of spectators. I just have been thinking, if PETA is indeed successful in doing so, that the orcas are entitled to the same constitutional rights as humans, then Tilikum can be prosecuted for murder/manslaughter...This in turn will be very ridiculous, as how on earth can you establish the mens rea of an animal?? Hire what? A special translator like Dr. Doolittle?

Kerrang! My Chemical Romance Poster Special

This is more of an alert than a blog for any MCR fans out there...

I only saw it today on sale in my local newsagent, so I'm guessing it has only just come out today, I don't know...but in celebration of ten years of My Chemical Romance, KERRANG! has published a My Chemical Romance poster special, it is titled "My Chemical Romance: the Ultimate Photographic History!", and it has 25 posters, 2 giant pull-out posters and 26 MCR inspired stickers.

It is freaking amazing, and I recommend it a buy for any hardcore MCR fan out there. :)

At RRP: £4.99 I think it's well-worth it. :)

What Does 'GCSE's' Say??

It's mid-August, and it's the time when every high school student across the UK are nervously waiting for their very important exams results for either their GCSEs or A-levels, and I know how you guys are feeling (or felt if you already received your results), I was there, I was also nervously counting down the days to my D-Days for my GCSEs and A-levels...I was even so nervous that I couldn't sleep the previous night...

I know that the pressure is really on, and the grades now really start to count, and the subjects really start to get harder...but really, I doubt one can forget the very basic of English...what I saw on trending on Twitter just now shows exactly that, it was "GCSE's" instead of "GCSEs", and there were people who were tweeting and made no reference to the mistake...guess that's just say how many people failed basic English....

Here's a friendly reminder to those who started the trend and continued making the same mistake...there's no apostrophe, darlings...

What is it about K-Pop and K-Drama??

I am right now really into Korean stuff, from the music, TV and the food...
I've been watching series and series of Korean drama, and I've enjoyed pretty much most of them, as most of the ones I've watched are pretty well written with hilarious storyline, and I'm right now really into another Korean series called "City Hunter"...
K-TV aside...but it's the artists that I'm really addicted to...it's because it seems every K-pop band I see seem to be a combination of extremely pretty boys to the point they can actually pull off as being females if they actually dress up...As well as the looks, they are also really brilliant when performing live...
But overall, what is it about K-pop? I know and I've heard this whole love of K-pop has already spread to Europe from Asia...
What do you think?

The video clip is two live performances of one of my favourite K-pop band right now...FT Island

My Chemical Romance have proved...

that they really do have the power to make some of their fans angry and royally pissed off after all...after talking to some fans, this is what I realised...So congratulation to them...

All my friends say that no band should ever have that kind of power...and I agree, and it should be a fact...

What a majority of My Chemical Romance fans don't realise that although yes, they have every right to do whatever the hell they want, but the whole thing with both "Glee" and "American Idol" is that yes, although both shows are encouraging and promoting music, but we shouldn't forget that both those shows are popular AND mainstream, and the band, by lending and *cough* selling the song's rights to the shows, they are making money by being mainstream, which was not what they were about, well, used to be about.
