SO Glad There Are No More Triple Digit Weather!

Hey there,

I just wanted to tell people this. NO MORE TRIPLE DIGIT WEATHER! The cycle finally broke in the last 2/3 of September! And we JUST had RAIN the other day! We got a whole INCH from two small areas of rain! The weather is so nice...I hope it cools down even more soon. I want to actually have a REAL reason to wear my MCR jacket!

My mom got me a couple metallic Sharpies the other day as well! She'll get one of course...I now have another color to add to my collection, which numbers to 23 if you include the metallic one!

My Nephew Is FINALLY HERE!!!!

Hey Killjoys!

I have EPIC news to tell you! My nephew Declan was born today (technically yesterday, but you get what I mean)! He was born at 1:14 p.m., September 14, 2011, weighing 8 lbs even and is 21 1/4 inches long (just about as long as me)! He has brown hair, so he didn't turn out a redhead! My parents and I left for the hospital this morning and got there around 11:30.

We got to talk to my brother and sister in law before my sister in law delivered him, and then went back to the waiting room. I had my iPod Touch and Sudoku to entertain me and pass the time.

This is a post I copied from a family member on Facebook:

IN MEMORY OF ALL WE LOST, THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF 9/11- STATISTICS: Times of impact: 8:46 a.m. and 9:02 a.m. Time the burning towers stood: 56 minutes and 102 minutes. Time they took to fall: 12 seconds. 2819 dead from 115 different nations. 343 Fireman/paramedics, 23 NYPD, 37 Port Authority officers. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ REPOST IF YOU WILL NEVER FORGET

I can't bear to watch the shows this year.

9/11/2001 I was:

Twelve years old.

Got My Hair Cut Last Night! And My Indecisive Stomach.

Hey Killjoys,

I got my hair cut really short last night! I know, I know; a summer cut right before fall comes into play? Well, I did it anyway. I've always wanted my hair cut above my chin since I saw a similar look on my sister in law (I got mine without the bangs). I am enjoying it immensely and I will post a couple pictures I took of the side and back.

I must take care of my stomach- which has been taunting me all day. It almost wouldn't let me eat lunch.

Fires in Texas!

Hey Killjoys,

I just wanted to let you know about something that freaked me out on Facebook. One of my friend's talked of a fie in Magnolia, Texas. That's only about an hour or so from Houston- which is where I live. My mom even told me to bag my medicine if we end up having to evacuate. So far Harris County hasn't been alerted to evacuate yet, so here's hoping the three counties named will be the only ones.

I'm also scared because my brother lives in The Woodlands, across the highway from another fire, my uncle is close to at least two of them and there's one south of where my grandma lives.

Hey Killjoys,

Comin' atcha from the Land of the Neverending Heat, otherwise known as TEXAS. The record for triple degree heat was 31 and we DEFINITELY broke it last week already! It's broken the 1980 record...BIG TIME. Right now I'd rather have Irene's rain than the heat that Texas is living through. Absolutely SUCKS. It's been close to reaching 110, but hasn't quite gotten there yet...Highest I've seen yet in my area is 108.

You know it's bad when you start wishing for weather in the 90s...Even 95 would be better! When it stops breaking 100 nearly every single goddamned day, I will be happy!

Hey Killjoys,

I just wanted to let you know this is the 17th straight day of triple-digit weather for Houston this summer! It wasn't supposed to get very hot until June, but the sun decided to beat down on us starting in May. I'm from the South, raised in the South and am accustomed to the heat, but this is just RIDICULOUS! It hasn't been this hot, this long (in one stint), since the 80s!

We've had 28 days of triple-digit weather this summer alone, and we're getting close to the record summer average temperature- 104 or 106- I can't remember which one. The heat indexes are no help either!

Visit to See My Grandfather

Hey Killjoys,

We went to see my paw paw today. He's not in the hospital or anything, but he's not in the best health. He doesn't eat much, sleeps most of the time and is constantly at risk of falling. He wasn't feeling well enough to come to the baby shower we were holding for my brother and sister in law this past Sunday, so we had no idea whether he would be feeling better. I had the choice of not going last night, but my mom put it in a way for me to understand about "What if this was the last chance you got to see him?

Spotify Discoveries

Hey Killjoys,

I wanted to share something that I discovered. I joined Spotify free a few days ago. I started searching for European music to broaden my horizons. So I turned to Spotify for help. I found several bands like something I would listen to.

I had avoided Lykke Li because of prior thoughts. I like a couple of her songs. I decided to hear some of Nightwish's songs and I like several of them.I went from Nightwish, to Apocalyptica. I'll stick with "I Don't Care"- already on my iPod.

I found the band Pilot Speed on Related Artists to Apocalyptica.

Saw My Estranged Grandfather Last Night For The First Time In My Life

Hey Killjoys!

I went to my two second cousins party last night in College Station. Mikey was turning 3 and Christopher was turning 1. :) My dad and I were watching the cars pull in commenting our truck was the most color of all the vehicles before many people got there (a lot were greys and silvers). Then, one car pulled up and my mom had appeared next to me. A elderly couple came out and my mom said the woman looked like a woman named Gail and that looked like Fred.

"That looks like Gail. Then that must be Fred."
I said, "Fred who?"
My mom said, "Your grandfather."
"That's him?"
