Chapter Ten: Death by Slayer.
She ran with all the strength she had. Her vampiric senses had failed her due to the lack of feeding. Human blood gave her the nutrients she needed to keep strong. She hadn’t had a pint of it in almost a week.
She ran farther, her pursuer gaining on her. She hissed in fury as she reached a dead end, her ice blue eyes scanning the blocked off alleyway for any way of escape.
“Your time’s run out, Leila. You must pay for all innocent people you’ve killed.” Said a young female voice. The figure was clad in a black cloak with the hood over her head.
All Leila could see were the girl’s deep, dark blue eyes; she knew those eyes, “Deppy… My dearest slayer, come to have another attempt at slaying me?” said Leila.
Deppy shook her head and chuckled. She removed the hood from her head, revealing her pretty face. Her hair a rich shade of chestnut, framed her face. Her dark blue eyes stared Leila down and she smiled sweetly.
“I have not come to ‘attempt’ to kill you, Leila. I merely came to seek vengeance.” Said Deppy, her voice sounded sweet.
“That’s what you said last time. And why would you been seeking vengeance when I haven’t done anything to you. Yet.”
“I know you haven’t harmed me or my family. But you have killed innocent people. That’s reason enough to slay you, after all, you’re an evil bloodsucker.”
Leila flicked her hair over her shoulder and batted her eyelids, “Oh! You flatter me.” Leila’s eyes turned black as she lunged forward, tackling Deppy.
Deppy had come prepared this time. She had been hunting Leila for over a year now and this was her opportune moment to finish her off. Leila and Deppy hit the ground with a loud thud and Deppy reached into her pocket and grabbed and spray can. She sprayed the contents in Leila’s face.
Leila jumped off Deppy and screamed in pain. Her hand covering her face and smoke started to billow from it.
“GARLIC SPRAY!!” screeched Leila as her face burned.
Deppy took the chance to whip out her stake from its holster on her leg. Leila stopped crying out in pain and faced Deppy.
Leila’s face had burns all over it. Her wounds began to sizzle and heal with vampiric speed. Once they all healed she chased after Deppy back out of the alleyway and into the nearby woods.
Leila jumped up onto a branch in a tree and then lunged forward, down onto Deppy again. Deppy whipped around in time to dodge and tackle the vampire. She pinned her down and drove the stake through Leila’s chest.
Leila gasped and writhed in pain. Deppy lent down until her lips were at Leila’s ear.
“This is what you get for being evil, Leila. Heaven has no place for you.” Deppy whispered into Leila’s ear.
Deppy pushed the stake farther into Leila’s chest and Leila yet out one last scream before falling still and turning into ashes.
Deppy picked up her stake and dusted herself off before replacing the hood over her head and walked away, into the night.
