Abandoned Mental Hospital photography? YUS :D

So today my friends and I went into the abandoned mental asylum called Cane Hill, we did loads of research before going in, and then last night my friend Bradley phoned and said he was slightly scared of going, I asked why and he listed loads of reasons, which made me pretty scared to go too haha, so this morning I was shitting bricks over it, and then we got there and spent about an hour, maybe an hour and a half trying to figure out how to get in, there were several buildings but they were all boarded up. Anyway, after about an hour we found an area where we could go around a building, through a hole in the fence, round a corner and there was an open gate into one of the buildings! It was shielded from the road, and we opened the door and viola! We were in! :D We must have spent about an hour or more looking around that place, it was both fascinating and terrifying at the same time, and I really wish I could upload more than 3 pictures on here! Yeah, so we were looking around, and there was this one door that was really broken, with a pitch black room inside, Jack went up to open the door but claimed he heard a hissing noise when he opened it, none of us believed him, and then he opened it again and told us about the hissing door, but again no one paid any attention, we were all looking at the other stuff in the asylum, but then Jack actually called us over and told all 5 of us to stand there and listen for when this sound came, so he opened the door, and sure enough there was a horrible hissing noise!!! It wasn't like gas escaping, or the door scraping on the floor, it sounded more like a snake! So me Katie and Imogen all jumped away and screamed, and Ray and Bradley asked if anyone had a flashlight so they could take a look inside, Katie lent Ray her phone which had a torch app, and we slowly opened the door again...You'll never believe what we found inside....There was a curtain on the floor, like a plain white curtain, and on top of that was what looked almost like a dead chicken, as well as a big pile of raw potatoes, some random brown grass like stuff and a red rectangular bucket...WHAT THE FUCK?! We still don't know what made the hissing noise, maybe it was a rat or a snake or something, but either way we closed that door and moved on. We investigated further and took more photos, and we came across a slightly faded, but colour photograph of a mother, father and their son. On the back it said "Samantha, Bill and (Unreadable name) age 2 and 1/2" And the year it was taken was 06... O.o Anyway, we carried on looking around and went through a set of double doors where we found a broken mirror on the floor, it was almost pitch black in the hallway, Ray and Jack came across a room that once held woodwork tools from what we could tell through the glass pane in the door, but when they found the door wouldn't open they tried forcing it open, I walked down the hall further and found that a large window into that room had been broken in already, so I climbed through there and freaked them out by appearing on the other side of the door :') Inside that room there were the marks where tools should have been, but no tools. We did however find a 2005 diary, with names of patients scrawled on certain pages, on one date 07/07/05 there was the birthday of a patient who's name I forget, but this scared Katie as that's her birthday too. She said, and I quote:
Katie: "Oh my god!! That's so weird!! He has the same birthday as me!!"
Ray: "...Yeah, it's almost as weird as Jesus having the same birthday as Christmas...¬.¬" LMFAO.
But yeah, we looked around in there a bit, and then left that room, and went through the hall into another room, which had 3 small lockers in, numbered 4, 3 and 2, we looked in them but they were empty, and number 2 was locked :P Then we left that room and went into the main area, where Imogen realised that every clock in this section had stopped at 10 'o clock. This was definitely the weirdest thing we'd discovered so far...It couldn't have been a power cut that caused this, as they were all analog clocks, so they all worked with gears and stuff...FREAKY.
Anyway, I was about to take a photo of this, when we heard a voice behind us shout
"EXCUSE ME!!!" Oh my god, I nearly shat myself. We turned around and there was a really angry looking man standing there, glaring at us...He looked at us, and said "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING HERE?!" And we all looked at each other, and I just said, with my camera in hand "Just looking around, taking a few photos is all..."
He turned to me and said "You're not allowed to take photos anywhere without permission, you're trespassing on private property. Have you stolen anything?!" And none of us had, I mean, for one, we don't steal, it's completely wrong. The only reason we were in there was to have a look around and take some photos. Also, reason number two, there wasn't anything worth stealing in there anyway, even if we were those sort of people, which we're not, can I re-point out haha.
Anyway, so we all shook our heads and truthfully said "No, we haven't stolen anything." I offered him my bag for him to search but he declined. Then he started telling us off again for trespassing, and told us to delete all the photos on our cameras and phones, and said we weren't allowed to take photos of this place, even from the public footpath outside!! I don't know about you guys, but that seems like they were trying to hide something if you ask me...? O.o Anyway, Imogen deleted all her pictures, but I pretended to, when in actual fact I just pressed random buttons on my camera and turned it off. I learned in Photography that no one, not even police officers have the legal right to make you delete photographs from your phone or camera, so I wasn't gonna delete them for this guy. Anyway, I think he believed that I deleted them. Then he asked what we were doing here, and this is probably the WORST lie I've ever told, but at the time I didn't know what to say, but I told him:
"Yeah...Well, we didn't know we weren't allowed in..."
He replied with:
"Darling, there's a barbed wire fence and the whole building's boarded up...I think it's a bit obvious you're not meant to be here..."
And I was like 'Fuck, that excuse failed...' (I thought that, I didn't say it!! XD)
But yeah, so I just turned to him and said "Well, we'll be on our way then, I'm very sorry, we didn't realise..." And we all headed for the door, except he decided he would personally escort all of us out and shout at us the whole way. Once we were out, we walked back the way we came and passed his car parked on the concrete outside the building, and there was a fucking police dog in there!!! It barked at us like mad when we walked past, and I think we all thought "Well thank fuck he didn't bring that in with him!!" Seriously, I like my face un-chewed by some guard dog...
Anyway, we left the mental asylum, but all in all we spent about two and a half hours there, not bad if you ask me. And I'm just so glad that man didn't call the police! Oh my gosh, that would NOT have been good! Anywho, there's my adventure for the day (: I'd love to explore more abandoned buildings, just maybe not any time soon...
Oh, and if you want to see the rest of my photos from today, here's the link to my album on Facebook, just add me and say you're interested in seeing them if you want to have a look! :D
