Swing Kids

"it don't mean a thing, if it ain't got that swing!"

So, I watched a movie in civics class, it was called Swing Kids. They are a whole bunch of teens during WWII that were against nazis. They rebelled by listening and dancing to "swing" music. They were hated and beaten by the nazis, but never gave up. The movie focuses on one boy names Peter who's father was a violinist and his dad was killed by nazis cuz he spoke out against them and helped Jews. It's follows the troubles he and his friends had as swing kids, and also a whole shit load of obstacles. The end of the movie was so sad, I cried for half an hour straight. In class.

Watching that movie made me realize how different society is today from back then. I focused more on their music though. I would have loved to be born anywhere between the 40s-60s because I am in love with their music. The not thing that would suck is no MCR :( but their music is just so simple, yet so complex at the same time. It was fun to dance to, had a great rhythm, and the people's voices were kick ass. If we got to be re-born after we died, I'd wanna be reborn in that era. BUT, everyone knows we go to the Black Parade when we die, so that ain't gonna happen ;D

I seriously recommend this movie to people who either like older music, like movies about speaking out, or like movies about WWII. it's a great inspiration to anybody and it's now one of my fav movies <3
