Saving the Black Parade. Part 13.

All the while Frank had just been standing there, looking as though I’d just became a spider again. “Wow,” He began. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know you felt that way. You just never seem to tell us exactly how you feel.”
“I don’t want to worry you.” She explained.
“We don’t want beautiful lies, no matter how painful the truth might be.” Gee told her. That was one of those things easier said than done though.
“Sorry.” Adrian apologized. “And if we’re being honest, there’s a spider on your head.”
I glanced at the top of Gerard’s head to be sure if she was being honest, or just trying to pull his leg. She was telling the truth though. A quarter sized spider was perched on top of his blonde hair.
“Seriously?” He said, unsure of whether to believe her.
“Yeah.” Frank’s voice was distant as he back up a few steps.
I sighed. “I’ve got it.” I simply brushed the arachnid into the palm of my hand, and placed in on the floor right outside the room.
“Kill it!” Frank shouted at me.
“No.” I’d never killed spiders before, and one of these days I might just be that spider, so I definitely wasn’t going to do it now.
“At least take it outside then.” I imagined he had realized my logic. Then again he probably didn’t.
“Fine.” I put the spider back onto my hand, and walked over to one of the windows in the hallway. I opened the window with my free hand, and placed the spider outside on the sill. “Happy?” I asked him as I shut the window.
“I guess.” He mumbled.
Adrian was laughing hysterically at this whole spider fiasco.
“If everything's settled now, can we go to sleep already?” Gee asked.
I smirked. “So long and goodnight.” I’d wanted to say for such a long time now, but just never got around to it. Tonight just seemed like the right night for it.
“You just had to say it, didn’t you?”
“You expected me not too?” I giggled.
“Crazy fans.” Frank mumbled. “Night.”
I shut the door behind me and Adrian. Before I flicked the lights off I waited until she was settled into bed. Pretty much once her head hit the pillow she was out cold. Stifling a laugh, I turned out the light, and stumbled through the dark to my own bed.
Trying to get comfortable was impossible. I thought the mattress was made of wooden boards, Not even laying on top of my blanket helped.
I sighed, and figured that I’d never fall asleep at this rate. That’s when I had an idea. Sitting up in my bed I willed my tired body to form into a small bat.
As if I couldn’t see anything in the darkness before, I remembered that bats have terrible eyesight. I also remembered they had the remarkable use of echolocation. Using the skills that came with my transformation I managed to fly up to one of support beams close to the ceiling.
With some caution I maneuvered myself to be hanging from the bottom of the beam by my tiny clawed feet. I wrapped my wings around my body, and found that the position was very comfortable.
At long last, after hanging upside for a few minutes, I slipped into a dreamless sleep.
I awoke to a startled scream.
“A bat!” Adrian shrieked.
Now being fully awake, I glided down from the beam, and landed on the floor as far from Adrian as I could manage so I wouldn’t scare her anymore than I already had. Being on the ground, I quickly formed back to myself.
“Sorry.” I smiled a small smile.
“You the scared the shit out of me.”
Before I could answer there was a light knock on the door, and Ray stepped in from the doorway. “What happened?” He must have heard Adrian’s scream.
“Sam was a bat and she scared me.” She explained.
Ray looked to me with an expression of ‘Do I really want to know?’. “Why?” He did ask.
Still smiling, it was my turn to explain things. “I couldn’t get comfortable in the bed, so I slept hanging from the ceiling. As a bat of course.”
He just continued to look at me. “I think you like shape shifting too much.”
“Maybe.”
“That’s not how I expected to start my morning. Anyway, I’m starving, and I need food.” Adrian announced.
I thought that was slightly weird. You’d really think that if you’re dead you wouldn’t need to eat. Then again if we needed to sleep, it wasn’t exactly too hard to believe that we also needed to eat.
“Everyone's already downstairs having breakfast.” Ray told us.
“We’ll be down soon.” I said.
“It’s the first door on the left.” Ray said as he closed the door behind him.

To be continued...
Guys, life is pretty good. Although I've got school tomorrow, and I know there's a lot I don't like about my life. You've got to look past it though, and keep your head up high.
