Mission: Revenge: Part 3. Re-Blog

After a good two hour hike back down the mountainside our car came back into view. It was surrounded by Dracs though. Great, just great. They were working faster than I anticipated.
“Stay back, and be quiet.” I whispered. Venom nodded, and did just that. “Venom, do you think you could get them?” I said as quietly as possible.
She just gave me a look that said, “As if you don’t already know the answer to that question.”, and pulled out her ray gun. No sooner had she turned her head, then her ray gun was out, and a ray lodged itself in the back of one of the Dracs head. He fell to the ground dead even quicker. The other Dracs looked around confused, unsure of where the shot had come from.
Luckily they walked off in the wrong direction. Once they were out of sight I said, “How do you shoot like that?”
“Too many video games.” Venom said sarcastically. No sooner had the last syllable left her mouth when a slightly distant shout came from across the parking lot.
The Dracs had just made it to the area from which the scream had come, and stopped. That was a big mistake on their part. A big off-white Suburban came crashing through the trees right into them. Their blood splattered across the ground, accompanied with a victory cheer from the car.
Out of curiosity, we walked over to the car, where three people had just exited the Suburban.
“Hands up.” The one who stepped out from the driver’s seat asked. Her hair was dark brown, and fell to her shoulders, her eyes were also brown, and she was skinny. She was wearing a leather jacket with a patch marked with “37” over the heart. Across the front it said “Would you destroy something perfect in order to make it beautiful?” on another patch. Her pants were dark wash skinny jeans tucked into black combat boots.
My eyes landed on her hand though, that was resting a black ray gun marked with an eight pointed silver star with a blue musical note made of lightning in its center.
I did as she said, and I hoped that Acidic Venom did the same.
“What are your names?” She asked.
“Waterfall Bomb. Acidic Venom.” I nodded towards her as I said her name. “What about you?” I seized the opportunity to ask her a question, before she could ask us anymore.
“I’m Radio Star. That’s Electric Aftermath, and Demon of Blood better known as Beautiful Blood though.” She took notice of the dead Drac that Venom had shot a few minutes ago. “Did one of you do that?” She asked motioning towards the dead Drac.
“I did!” Venom bragged.
“Nice shot. You can put your hands down now.” She said brightening up a lot.
It was silent for an awkward several moments. “Um, hey,” I broke the silence. “Where are you guys headed?”
“No where special, why?”
“Well, our other friend went missing up there on the mountain, and neither of us can drive, and we kind of need to get to Ohio ASAP.” I explained.
“Sure thing. What happened to your friend though?”
“Not sure. We found a piece of her jacket, but that was it.”
“Yikes. If you want to you two can join our gang. Only one condition.”
“What is it?”
“One of you had got to be the leader. It seems good things never happen when I’m the one in charge.”
“Fine by me. Just don’t call me the leader; I’m not one for titles.”
With that we all got into the car, and started towards Ohio. It was a simple enough journey to make. Once we made it to the opposite side of the Appalachian Mountains we found the Last Interstate. All we had to do from here was follow it all the way across the rest of Pennsylvania, and then across most of Ohio.
During the ride we all exchanged stories. Radio Star had come from the South when things got bad down there. She wasn’t any older than me, but her family was farmers, so she knew how to drive already. Once up in the Northeast she met Beautiful Blood and Electric Aftermath who were just drifters of sorts. They never really settled down at any one place for long, but Radio Star convinced them that maybe sticking around there could be good.
Me and Venom’s stories were pretty much the same. We grew up in Pennsylvania, where our lives were hell. Venom’s had always been a little worse than mine, but that doesn’t make my life sound any prettier. Now with Bl/ind it didn’t seem things would ever get any better.
I also explained why we needed to get to Ohio. They said what I was doing was a good thing, and that they didn’t mind if Flash Drive joined our little group.
By now it was late, and we’d had a long day. Could it have only been this morning that Better Living chased us out of our homes? It feels like so much longer what with all the events of the day. The last thing I remember before passing out in my seat was Radio Star telling me that by the time I woke up we’d be in Ohio.
She was right, when I opened my eyes to harsh sunlight we were stopped outside the bed breakfast in Ohio. I looked around the car to see that everyone else was still asleep. Luckily I called shotgun, I silently got out of the car. There were a couple other cars in the parking lot, but they were empty.
I wasn’t sure if Flash Drive was here yet, or when she would be here. Maybe she was inside. I went inside to find out.
Behind the counter was a woman, she didn’t look like a killjoy, but she didn’t look like she was brainwashed either. I decided that I should be the happy me who says hello, and asks how your day is.
“Good Morning. Did anyone by the name of Flash Drive come in here by chance?” I asked her.
“One second.” She looked down, and flipped through a couple papers in front of her. “No, sorry sweetie.”
“It’s alright. Thanks anyway.” I turned around, and went back to the car.
By now Electric Aftermath was up. “Where were you? I was worried.” She whispered to me.
“I was just checking to see if Flash Drive had checked in at the bed and breakfast. She didn’t. I don’t think she’s here yet.” I explained.
She just nodded.
“Do you think we should wake up the others?”
“Let them sleep. I’m sure sleep will be hard to come by some nights, so we might as well let them enjoy it.”
I nodded in agreement.
