Mission: Revenge. Part 21.

“So, what exactly was that.” Flash asked. I had the question myself, but I didn’t really exactly want to know.
“Well you see BL/ind did inject her with something. It’s still experimental as far as we know. It causes the person to have false memories of certain people, and try to kill them. That’s what happened to Venom.” Kobra explained to us. “She’ll never be exactly the same person as she was before. That’s why we had to get her away from us.”
After that it was silent again. Flash Drive had fallen asleep, and I was out of words. The entire ride back to the Diner was like that.
When we returned to the Diner we found that nothing interesting had happened in our absence. Fun Ghoul was sitting at the bar strumming out some songs on his guitar, and Jet and Party were playing cards in a booth.
“Hey.” Party looked up from his cards when we entered. Fun just gave us a quick wave before continuing the song he was playing. Jet didn’t give us any greeting, he must have been too engrossed in the card game.
“Now what?” Flash Drive asked. She napped the entire way there and back, so now she was full of energy.
“I want to talk to Party and you, Bomb.” Kobra said. “Alone.”
Party nodded, and put his cards face down on the table, and we all walked outside to the back of the Diner.
“What is it?” Party asked Kobra.
“Just an idea. I think we should get away from here for a few days.” Me and Party both gave him a curious look. “Chances are Venom had a tracking device on her. This place isn’t safe if so.” Kobra explained.
“Good thinking, bro.” Party patted him on the back.
“Yeah. When we leaving?”
“This is evening, there’s no time to waste.”
I nodded. That left us about three hours to get ready.
We immediately went into action and each got our own things packed up into the back of the Trans Am. With all that packed in there we decided it was necessary to take my crews old Suburban. So, we put all the other supplies into the back of that. Mostly food, weapons, and some of the guys instruments.
All this took about two and half hours. Most of that was because Fun Ghoul couldn’t decide which of his guitars to take, and switched them out several times. That last half hour was spent arguing over who would be in each of the cars. In the end it was decided that I would go in the Trans Am with Kobra and Fun. While Party, Jet, and Flash were in the Suburban. I didn’t even know it was possible to argue over seating arrangements for a half hour, until then of course.
With everything packed we got into our assigned vehicles and set off. It just then occurred to me that I didn’t even know where we were going.
“Where are we even going?” I asked.
“A little vacation home.” Fun Ghoul answered me.
I snorted in response. “Home? Maybe for you. Where did you live before the fires anyway?”
“Before our band really made it off the ground, we lived in New Jersey.”
“So, we’ll be passing through Pennsylvania?”
“Yeah. Why?”
“That’s where I lived before the fires.”
“Oh.” Both of them said in near unison. They started laughing, and I joined in soon enough.
That was how most of the trip went with me in the Trans Am. We talked about everything and anything under the sun, cracked jokes, and just had fun. Well, as much fun that you can have in a Trans Am.
We didn’t make many stops for most of the journey. When we did stop it was food or to sleep. Only on one occasion was it because of Dracs, but that was minor.
