Series 2 part three (VWNHY)

yeah, random, thanks readers <3 Hope you like it

“Who the hell are you?” Frank was mad, so of course he was rude to the deadly tough looking strangers who had a machine gun. That’s just how he rolls.
The man at the front glared at him. “Round up squad.” He had an army voice; obviously. The others shone torches in our faces, making my head spin rapidly.
“Care to tell us what that is?” Frank fumed.
“Care to show a bit respect?” This guy had no fleas on him. “We’re here to help you.”
“How did you know we were here?” Ray asked.
“Like I said, round up squad. We were just scouting the area….And here we are.”
After all the events of the past year, trust was not something we were certain of, except in our little group. Franks face showed.
“So…How are you going to help us? How do we know we can trust you?” Gerard had come out of his little daze.
“Take you to civilisation. Get you a home,” he looked at the truck. “You need one. As for trust…” He shrugged, “not our problem.”
“Civilisation?” Frank remarked. “There is no civilisation. It’s a revolution, there’s practically no one left. The cities are deserted, three quarters of the world either dead of vanished, politics and economy and culture disintegrated. We don’t know if anything’s true anymore. Except the vampires…”
“Vampires? Quit messing around, man.”
“I heard a rumour…” One of the eldest at the back of the group stepped foreword. His hair was greying, his arms covered in battle scars. It showed in his eyes too; this man had seen war. Or some form of it. “There was word going round of blood sucking creatures…”
“Shut up Grayson, you’re mad anyways.” They all rolled their eyes, as if used to this behaviour.
“Well he’s right, so I don’t know where you lot get off!” Frank huffed
“What is your problem?” he demanded.
“You’re saying that there’s civilisation when there’s not. You’re saying that the creatures that killed hundreds of people don’t exist. You’re saying that our truck isn’t good enough!” he pointed to the wreck; Gerard smirked slightly.
The man sighed, flexing his arms. “Look, Im not a tolerant man. Either we help you, or you’re stranded here, with the ‘vampires’.” He made a disbelieving gesture. “Either way our haul leaves in ten minutes. With or without you.”
He looked at Sophie, and then walked back to the others, leaving Gee humming U2.
“What do we do?” Ray sounded desperate.
Frank looked dark. “I don’t know. In all the years of the revolution, I’ve never heard of any kind of civilisation.” He gripped Sophie’s hand.
“Look,” Mikey spoke for the first time, “lets wing it. That’s what we’ve always done…It’s always paid off. So no one says we trust them…We just don’t…Not trust them…? We’re not exactly all okay right now.”
He looked me directly in the eye, his face still pale. I gave him a sympathetic look.
“Sounds alright to me.” Tom muttered.
“Right then,” Ray said. “We go with them.”
“Agreed,” we all stated, and went over to the men.
