Franks pov
...................................................................................................................................................
I swear the awkward silence went on for about ten minutes.
Or at least, it felt like that.
Thank god for Gerard, I swear he saved my life.
He just took Lindseys hand, and started gabbling "So, oh my gosh, I can't believe you haven't seen Star Wars, seriously one of the best movies ever, your coming to my apartment to watch it, and then we're gonna watch Back to the future, and all that shit! Yeah, go cool lame movies!"
Of course she didn't object, and got up immediatley, trying to hide a grin at his enthusiastic outburst.
"So, yeah, who else wants to come?" he hinted, already pulling a very confused Jamia off the sofa.
"Yep, sounds great." said Ray, taking that hint, and pulling Steph out of the door. She flashed me 'good luck' eyes. Mikey and Bob followed last, all of them passing Laura without making eye contact. I hoped Gerard explained this all to Jamia.
The door slammed, leaving us alone.
Shit, shit, shit.
Laura just stood at the doorway, before coming in and sitting on the sofa.
Her eyes never left me, but i was looking at the floor.
She gave me a cold stare, looking down on me, as if about to smack my butt.
I realised something, just then.
I didn't care what she was going to do anymore.
I didn't even care about her herself.
I was actually over her!
"Soooooo......" She started.
But then I suddenly just couldn't help it. I smirked.
Bad move.
"What's so funny?" she asked, keeping the cold tone.
If she was gonna treat me immature, I was gonna be immature.
So i answered her question very truthfully.
"You."
She raised an eyebrow. "What?"
"You, your funny," then i let go, and burst out laughing.
She stared at me, as if i'd gone crazy.
"i, mean how dramatic was that?" I asked, " I thought I was gonna freakin burp, just to break the tension!"
I kept laughing, but of course she didn't join in. That just made it more funny.
Finally, she got up what she wanted to say, but I didn't stop smirking all the way through her very rehearsed speech.
It was all lies anyway.
"Well Frank, I've been staying at my parents, and it gave me a chance to think..... I was thinking that, maybe.... I'll give you another chance. I think we should try and make it work. But if you blow it again, because you don't even care about me-"
"Laura, i'm gonna stop you right there."
I was laughing again. " To be blunt, I don't care if you want to try again.....You know why?"
She shook her head.
"Because its been three weeks, and i'm already bloody over you!" I explained, using my hands to help me in detail.
Strange, i'd never done that before, but it felt pretty cool.
"What....?" She was prentending to look hurt.
I was tired of falling for it, the bitch had been making me feel guilty for the past year.
"The past three weeks, are the funniest i've ever bloody had!"
I leaned closer and started whispering, "Hate to break it you Laura, but we are finished, done, over, through!" I paused between every word, to make it more dramatic.
Playing her at her own game (having a little bit too much fun in the process).
I felt so madly evil.
I started howling with laughter again, and this time I didn't stop.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go watch Luke Skywalker beat the hell out of Darth Vader, because I think I'm done here!"
I walked to the door.
Just before leaving, i turned and stuck my tounge out at her.
She stared at me in disgrace, her eyes narrowed.
She was back to being her poisinous old self again.
At least we ended on great terms. Ha ha!
That felt so bloody great!
I walked into Gerards apartment, to see everone crammed on the sofa, watching 'The Empire Strikes Back'. Good, they'd chosen my favourite Star Wars.
But the every head turned towards me, each with the same anxious expression.
Ray was the bravest, "How did it go?"
He sounded worried.
I grinned.
"I'll tell you how it went."
Then, reacting on impulse, I walked straight up to Jamia, and kissed her.
Can't tell you how long I've wanted to do that.
