Until The River Runs Red (Part 3)

(Five thousand years later)

Ray's dark brown eyes flicked open as the loud voices continued. He turned to head to look at the clock beside his bed, the clock read 8:59am, he groaned and rolled out of bed to see what the fuss was about. As he made his way out of the room and into the kitchen area he saw his two friends shouting at one another.
“But it's my mug!” One of them shouted.
“For crying out loud Frank it's just a mug have another one.” The other said trying to sound calmly.
“But it's mine, I brought with my own money!” Frank shouted. Ray turned towards his other friend Gerard who sat at the table sipping his cup of coffee, minding his own business.
“How long have they been going on like this?” Ray asked.
“About five minutes now.” Gerard shrugged. “It's quite amusing actually.”
“Fine have your stupid puppy dog mug!” Mikey shouted putting the mug down and getting another one out of the cabinet.
“Well, now it's had your disgusting germs all over it I don't want to drink out of it any more.” Frank said walking out of the kitchen area. Mikey growled and sat beside his brother sipping his coffee.
“Idiot.” He spat.
“Right, now that you two have finished your stupid argument for today what shall we do?” Gerard asked.
“To be honest I’d rather sit by the pool all day.” Mikey said. “That flight last night has killed my brain.”
“Fine, what about you Ray, what do you wanna do?”
“I dunno.” He shrugged sitting beside him.
“Well that was helpful. How about you Frank?” Gerard shouted.
“Oh I'm there baby.” Frank’s voice could be heard from his bedroom.
“Your where?” Gerard asked.
“In my room.” Frank called back.
“If Frank has stopped acting like a whiny baby I’ll go out for a walk with you guys.” Mikey mumbled. Frank walked out of his room fully clothed and sat at the table.
“I think maybe we should go to the pyramids.” He suggested.
“Yeah but all the good stuff has already been found.” Mikey mumbled.
“Not the lost chamber of Osahar.” Ray said.
“The what?” They all asked at the same time.
“The lost chamber of Osahar.” Ray repeated. “Surly you've heard of him.” Everyone shook their heads. “Osahar was a ruthless warrior who was said to have murdered his sister and two nephews so that he could claim the throne for himself. No one really knows what happened to him, it was said that after he killed his nephews he poisoned his sister. She muttered her last words as a curse. Anyway long story short he died after one year on the throne. No one knows what happened to his body or how he died, his life story was lost. People believe that his life is a myth since there is no evidence to his existence.”
“In that case it's pointless looking.” Frank said.
“Not really. There are those who believe and have tried looking for it.” Ray said.
“Well, it sounds better than Mikey's plan which is sitting by the pool all day doing nothing. Lets go.” Gerard said getting up from his seat, Ray smiled and followed him. Mikey and Frank and groaned as they got up and followed Gerard and Ray out of their hotel room.
“Why do I have a bad feeling about this.” Mikey mumbled.
“Come on guys we gotta explore our surroundings, we didn't come on vacation just to sit by the pool for a whole week.” Ray said.
“Yeah but at least we're safe by the pool area.” Mikey said.
“Oh says the kid who was too scared to go swimming at his local leisure centre because he thought there was a shark in there.” Gerard laughed. The others joined in too except for Mikey.
“If your gonna continue to mock me I'm going back to the room.” He grumbled.
They continued to walk until they made it to the desert, they saw the pyramids coming closer to their view.
“Okay, whose ever bright idea it was to come all the way out here, I hate you.” Frank said falling to the floor. Gerard turned around to look at his friend passed out on the floor, he sighed and shook his head as he continued to walk with Ray and Mikey.
“Bye Frank, enjoy the vultures pecking at your flesh.” Gerard called back. Frank instantly jumped up from the ground and ran after his friends.
“Guys wait! Don't leave me!” He shouted. They made it to The Great Pyramid of Khufu, the largest of the three, and looked down at the entrance.
“Looks like someone beat us to it.” Gerard mumbled.
“Well this was a waste of time, come on lets go back to the hotel and hang by the pool.” Mikey said turning back.
“Not so fast.” Ray said grabbing onto his sleeve and pulling him back. Mikey groaned and followed everyone else into the dark entranceway of the pyramid.
