The Silent Killer (Part 3)

The guests stared at the blood covered body, everyone was thinking the same thing 'who would do such a thing.' Their host, Stewart Morris, was a kind young gentleman, he had a twenty three year old daughter, a loving wife who passed away three years ago. He had done no wrong to anyone. A young woman with golden yellow hair walked into the room, she gasped as she saw the sight and her legs gave way. A young man with short dark brown hair ran over to her and tried to wake her up.
“I don't care what anyone says, I'm calling the cops.” Ray said pulling out his cell phone, he started to dial the number then cursed under his breath.
“What's wrong?” Gerard asked.
“No signal.” He muttered.
“Use the house phone.” Semira said. Mikey walked over to the house phone but the worried look on his face said it all.
“The phone lines been cut.” He said. The lightning cracked through the sky as more rain harshly fell from the sky.
“How far is the nearest station?” Frank asked.
“Your seriously not going out in that are you?” Beset asked.
“It's not like I have a choice, there's no other way.” He said walking over to the front door.
“Good luck getting out.” June said who stood by the window. “The storm has flooded the road and the gates locked.”
“What do you mean? The gate can't be locked.” Semira said running up to the window.
“We don't just have a one off killer here.” Gerard said. “Whoever murdered Stewart planned this and planned this well. Someone in this room or in this house knows what they're doing, and I don't think their gonna stop until they get what they want.”
“Daddy...” A light voice cracked. Everyone turned their gaze to the young woman who fainted.
“Jessica, I'm sorry.” Aurelia said softly kneeling down beside her.
“Who...”
“We're not sure.” The dark haired man said. “But we'll find out, I promise.”
“You know that guy June was with earlier?” Ray whispered.
“Yeah.” Semira said.
“Well, he's not here.” Everyone turned and looked around, he was right.
“Carl?” June called out sounding worried.
“Look if there's a killer on the loose then we need to find him.” Beset said.
“And what do you suggest, split up?” The dark haired man asked. “Wouldn't that make things worse?”
“Oh shut up Justin!” Mikey shouted. “I suppose you have a better idea?” Justin stayed quiet and walked back over Jessica.
“Me, Justin and June will go upstairs to look for him.” Aurelia said. “The rest of you stay down here and look for him. If he's not upstairs well meet back here and figure something else out, okay?”
“And who put you in charge?” Beset spat.
“Beset, please, just let her get on with it.” Mikey whispered. “If it gets her away form us then just let her.” Beset smiled and nodded. Aurelia, Justin and June walked out of the room and made their way up the dark wooden staircase.
“Okay then, Beset and Mikey with me.” Gerard said. “We'll look around the back of the house, Carl has to be here somewhere.”
“Me, Frank and Semira will stay here with Jessica.” Ray said. “Someone needs to be here in case he comes back and well... we can't really leave Jessica on her own since she's in shock.”
“Good idea.” Gerard said.
“Come on gang, we got a mystery to solve.” Beset said walking out of the room. Frank rolled his eyes. Mikey smiled and followed her out of the room with Gerard following them.
“Let us know if you find him.” Semira called out.
“We will.” Gerard called back. The storm grew heavier and the heavy rain picked up speed.
“Nice night for a murder huh?” Frank mumbled.
