Inner Demons (Part 7)

Ray flinched as he heard the front door slam. His father's footsteps became louder and louder as he made his way into the small kitchen area where Ray sat at the table.
“Your home late father.” He mumbled.
“And whaths it got to do withhh you?” His father slurred.
“Oh dad, your drunk again.” Ray whined. His father turned to him and frowned.
“YOU!” Godfrey yelled pointing to his son. “You did this to me. Your blasphemous ways killed your mother.” Ray growled and shot up from his seat knocking the wooden chair over.
“No, your constant beating her and drunken ways killed her.” He spat. Godfrey looked surprised that Ray had spoken back to him.
“How dare you.” Godfrey whispered. “How dare you speak such immoral words in front of the eyes of God!” His whisper suddenly turned a yell.
“Oh don't you get it, God doesn't exist!” Ray yelled. “It's all bull shit from a drunken peasant. I don't believe father. I don't want to take over the church when I'm older, I want to help people, I want to make them better, and not by 'cleansing their souls' as you put it. I want to go to school and meet people, I don't want this father.”
“Blasphemer!” Godfrey yelled. “Only God can help the helpless.”
“Call me whatever you want father but I'm not like you. I’ve seen what you do to young children. How many more father? How many more innocent lives are you going to take?”
“The Lord tells me who should live and who should die. I only make his wishes come true.”
“There is no Lord. It's all lies fed to you to make you conform like the rest of them!” Ray shouted running up the stairs to his bedroom, Godfrey growled and ran after his son chasing him up the stairs. He grabbed hold of his ankle and pulled him down to the floor, Ray screamed kicking his way out of his father's grasp, when he was finally free he ran into his room and slammed the door behind him. Godfrey kicked down the door just as Ray was about to jump from his bedroom window.
“Don't think I won't do it dad.” He said doing his best not to show any sign of fear. “I not afraid to die.”
“Suicide sends you straight to Hell.” Godfrey said.
“Well what if I don't believe? Where does it send me then?”
“Raymond, come away from the window.”
“Make me.” Ray spat as he jumped out of the window. Godfrey ran forward and grabbed hold of Ray's shirt pulling him back up. “No! Let me go!” Ray cried. Godfrey threw Ray on his bed and shut the window.
“Blasphemer.” He hissed diving on to his son and pinning him to the bed. “Blasphemers need their souls cleansing. And there’s only one way to do that.” He grinned.
“NO!!” Ray cried struggling to release himself.
“God made me strong and you weak. Clearly he wants this to be done. The Lord is always watching.”
“Then God is more of a pervert than YOU!” Ray snapped. Godfrey growled and flipped his son over on his stomach before stripping him of his clothes.
“No! Father don't do this please!” Ray cried.

Gerard walked into his house and threw his bag down on the floor, as always Mikey sat at the table waiting for his older brother to teach him what he had learned that day. For someone who had a lot to hide Mikey still had a smile on his face.
“Okay Mikes, today we learned Latin.” Gerard sighed taking a seat opposite him. Mikey's eyes widened when he saw how red Gerard's wrist was from where he had been beaten by his teacher.
“Gee.” He whimpered pointing the the red mark. Gerard sighed and rolled down his sleeve.
“It's noting.” He said in a deep voice. He pulled out all of his notes and found the page he was looking for. “So anyway, repeat after me. Salue, mea nomen est.”
“Salue, mea nomen est.” Mikey repeated.
“Good.” Gerard smiled at him. “Now say it again only say your name at the end of the sentence.” Mikey nodded and did as he was told.
“Salue, mea nomen est Mikey.” He said. “Um, Gee... what does it mean?”
“Hello, my name is Mikey.”
“Oh, nice.” He smiled.
“Anyway, moving on.” Gerard said continuing with the lesson.
