Derren Brown: How to Control the Nation...PWA Experiment

Derren Brown, the famous U.K illusionist

If you are from the U.K, you should have heard of an illusionist called Derren Brown...who is well known for his surprising performances of various different psychological tricks which have impressed many. Of course one of the most recent impressive tricks that he performed was predicting correctly and exactly the lottery numbers.
Tonight however, was his biggest trick so far, on his show: "Derren Brown: How to Control the Nation", he attempted to put the whole nation under his spell through 'subliminal messaging' [which is now called PWA, Perception Without Awareness], by playing a live video footage which contains some sort of 'subliminal messaging' and while watching the clip, the live audiences and TV viewers (this experiment has to be done with the participants sitting down) may feel kind of hypnotized, and that they are stuck in the chair/couch and not able to stand back up.
I was sitting at home watching the show, and I've also decided to participate in this rather intriguing experiment, following the instructions given, very freakishly it worked for me...I was stuck in the freaking couch for several freaking minutes...The result was that it actually worked for most of the live audience, and maybe also a majority of TV viewers, and for some others, it didn't work...
I would also like to point out one interesting part of the show (if you've missed the show), to show the effect of subliminal messaging on the public, he along with some confederates, set up the experiment of subliminal messaging on generosity (in order to get people to be more generous and to express generosity) in a shopping mall, subliminal messages are expressed by posing shops' mannequins giving lots of money to another...Derren Brown dressed himself as a homeless guy and sat down by the side with an old tin, and the result was that he received a large sum of donation given by members of the public and collected around 180 pounds and a brand new pair of shoes within the first 15 minutes, surpassing a lot of which an ordinary homeless guy would normally receive in an ordinary situation...

Note: Subliminal messaging has been said to be widely used in advertising, and had been claimed as 'a threat to human rights' by the UN.
