The Maze of Monsters

The story I have to write for Writing. Here it is!

“Come on!”
“No!”
“Don’t be such a baby!”
“I am not a baby!”
“Yes you are!”
“Don’t make me tell mom!”
“You ALWAYS go to mom!” Rebell and Cassadee bickered.
“Just stop it already! You two ALWAYS fight!” Mikey yelled out in frustration. They were all triplets, even though they looked and acted NOTHING alike. Mikey was tall and skinny, had brown, shaggy hair that usually had a hat covering it, hazel eyes, and awkward knees. He had glasses for his near-sightedness and usually wore band tee shirts, jeans, and sneakers, which he sometimes switched out for his black leather boots.
Rebell was definitely a rebel. She had black, choppy hair with a side bang, tall, and steel blue eyes. She usually wore a lot of black, including band tee shirts (Black Veil Brides the most), skinny jeans, and knee-high boots. Some would call her Goth, but she really isn’t once you get to know her.
Cassadee is the perfect child. She has long, golden colored hair, baby blue eyes, and was the shortest of the pack, 4” 11’ to be exact. The only thing they all had in common was the skin tone, pale. Rebell was finally annoyed. She grabbed Mikey’s and Cassadee’s wrists and dragged them into the leafy maze.
“Let go of me!” Cassadee yelled out, but was too late.
Cassadee finally wiggled out of Rebell’s firm grasp.
“I’m leaving!” She stated, turning around on her heels and walking out of the dark, leafy maze. A few minutes after she was out of their sight, a blood-curdling scream was heard from one of the dead ends. They ran all the way to the source of the sound. It was Cassadee, paler than ever. You know, if it was possible. This group of triplets were VERY pale.
“What happened?!” Mikey panted, out of breath from running.
“I.. There was… They are here… They’re real..” Cassadee stuttered, scared to death.
“What’s real?” Rebell asked.
“Vampires! One just flew in front of me when I started to think about them! It’s Halloween! That’s why they’re coming out!” Cassadee exclaimed. Mikey and Rebell looked at her like she had three eyes. Suddenly, Rebell looked frightened.
“Did you hear that? It- it sounded like a low, VAMPIRE like hiss!” She exclaimed.
“Where?!” Cassadee yelled, frightened. Rebell burst out laughing.
“I cannot believe you f-fell for th-that! Classic j-joke! Scaredy Cat!” Rebell said in between laughs. No one was laughing, not even Mikey.
“Not nice, Rebell.” Mikey said firmly, his poker face in action.
“I was just joking around with her…” Rebell answered, looking down. No one knows what and why Rebell listens to Mikey and Mikey only. Cassadee was immensely angry.
“I hate you! How are we siblings? We are NOTHING alike! I wish a huge witch would just scoop you up and take you away!” Cassadee yelled. Evil laughter filled the cold, autumn air. Out of nowhere, a grotesque witch came flying down and grabbed Rebell by her collar.
“Help! Help me! Let go of me now!” Rebell yelled, kicking and swatting at the witch. That didn’t stop her though. Mikey, still shocked at what happened to his sister, took out his sling-shot, loaded it with a rock, and aimed it at the dastardly witch who was flying over them. It hit her and they started to descend. SPLASH!!! They scurried to the source of the sound, which happened to be a murky lake. The lake was fairly large, and had one tree and bush off the left side of it. The tree was a weeping willow, the branches dipping into the water. Rebell came sloshing out, dripping wet.
“What just happened?!” She questioned, squeezing the filthy water out of her hair.
“Don’t you see it? The monsters of Halloween are coming alive ON Halloween night!” Cassadee exclaimed.
“And? Oh whatever. Come on, let’s get out of the maze.” Rebell grumbled. They started to hear rustling from the bush behind them. An orange, colossal giant came stomping out of the bushes.
“Let’s get out of here!” Mikey yelled. The triplets sprinted away from the lake and all around the maze, thinking the grotesque monster was chasing them. They stopped after a while.
“What’s going on?! You know what, I don’t want to know! Let’s just find a way to leave this maze!” Rebell panted.
“Well, the best way to get out of a maze is to stay on the left side.” Cassadee said, sounding like a know-it-all.
“Then let’s stay on the left side of the wall then!” Mikey said. They put their hands on the left side of the wall, walking slowly out. That plan didn’t go as smoothly as they hoped though. The maze, it was changing. Rebell stopped.
“We’ve been here before. I’m sure of it.” She said slowly. They realized that she was right.
“How though?” Cassadee asked. “That’s the problem. I don’t know.” Rebell answered, eyebrows knotting together. They looked at each other, realizing that they were trapped. Soon, they were all thinking together.
“Everything is happening because it’s Halloween night, right?” Rebell said, walking in a circle while looking down.
“Or we’re just magical.” Mikey suggested. All three of them burst out laughing.
“To think that we’re magical is thinking that the world will really end on 2012!” Cassadee laughed.
“Good joke Mikey, but back to the problem. How are we going to get out of here?” Rebell said.
“Stop thinking. The maze seems to be changing to suit our thoughts, so just stop thinking!” Cassadee exclaimed. They agreed and started to walk to find their way out. A loud howl came from the other end of the maze, and was getting closer.
“Who thought of Werewolves?!” Mikey exclaimed. Nervously laughing, Rebell raised her hand, embarrassed.
“Sorry?” She announced. Cassadee rolled her eyes in a judgmental manner.
“Of course it was you! Ugh, just come on and let’s try and avoid that monster.” Cassadee responded, rolling her eyes. They started off walking down one of the many winding pathways.
“This… is… too… tiring!” Cassadee complained to hours later. They ignored that comment and kept walking. Mikey checked his watch. 11:05. It was getting late. Cassadee finally broke.
“I wish we never moved here! I miss my friends, and dad, and our old house! Life is hard here. Everyone sounds different and I have no idea what half of the words they say mean! I hate it here. I hate Painswick, England! I want to leave!” She cried. Suddenly, everything became quiet and still. A huge jolt came out of the ground and blasted the kids away from the maze to their hometown, Houston, Texas. They were screaming for their mother, when they realized, she was coming with them too. Now, you may be confused with this last part, but you must realize, it was not the maze that was magical, it was the triplets. Yes, Mikey was right, and over the years, they discovered these powers and mastered them. Their story, however, is not over. They still have a ways to go…
