well i hope you enjoy it. its veeryyy loonnng. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK!

The graffitied killjoy- mobile pulled up onto an old gravelly pathway. Worn away by many travelers looking for “adventure” before the fires, it was an interesting little trail. It was hidden away by bushes in the desert brush and only a true navigator (or somebody who knew where it was) would be able to find it now. Alkaline Insanity looked around at the place Neon Transit had decided to stop the car. It was a calm area that somehow held a sense of hostility in the whispering breeze. She thought that maybe some sort of incident had occurred before its current inhabitants found it.
“Well, here it is. Home sweet home,” Neon transit said with her hands perched on her hips and a small smile.
“What? Oh, yeah. It’s lovely, Neon,” Alkaline said quickly as her train of thought was interrupted. She then broke off from the conversation and continued to take in the “vibe” of the area.
“You dumb ass. There ISN’T ANYTHING THERE.” Neon said with a loud laugh, breaking Alkaline’s thought for the last time.
“Sorry. I didn’t notice. I was taking in the vibe. Anyways, where is the infamous fort?”
“Follow me.”
“But what about-“
“The car is fine. I put its camo - cover and some trees onto it while you were admiring the “vibe.” ”
“Oh.”
Neon led Alkaline about three minutes into the heavy brush of the desert until they stopped at a dead tree. Alkaline wondered where the tree house was if this was their infamous fort. She was proved wrong, however, when Neon pulled down a branch, kicked the trunk three times, and set her index finger on a nook in the tree. Suddenly, the tree made a clicking noise.
“Step back,” Neon said to Alkaline as the sand started to move where they were standing.
Then, a trap door sprung open from where Alkaline used to be standing. Neon led the two down the narrow staircase below the door and then it shut itself with a loud slam. Neon pressed a button on the wall once they reached the bottom of the stairs to illuminate what seemed like a cave that was infested by video game nerds. There were wires, discs, controllers, and many monitors set up on the cave walls. And there was a huge pilot chair in the middle of the cave that was surrounded by three couches.
“This, Alkaline is what I like to call the Nerd Cave,” Neon said proudly. “I installed all of the wires and monitors that you see here which help us hack into BL/ind and other corporations. But sometimes we mess with Wal-Mart’s computer sales just to make the manager mad.”
“Well, It definitely is something. But it’s something good. I love the pilot chair by the way,” Alkaline said. She was amazed by all of the equipment that Neon had installed BY HERSELF. It must have taken ages.
“Oh, yeah. That’s the chair that whoever is doing the main hacking uses. Maybe it will be yours to sit in next time. I hear that you are a wiz with breaking down software.”
“How did you know that?”
“You fell asleep in the car. And, needless to say, you talk in your sleep. Anyways, onto the main event: THE FORT! Paradise awaits, haha.”
Neon led Alkaline deeper into the cave, which was pretty much just a regular cave after they passed the awesome nerdy part. They walked on for about ten more minutes until there was another set of staircases leading up. They followed the staircase through yet another trap door back into the desert sun.
Once alkaline emerged from the underground cave, she instantly saw a magnificent building. It was painted and decorated just as Neon’s car was and was two floors high. It had a boarded up garage and looked perfect for a tattoo parlor or an automobile shop to do business in. In all senses, it looked just like a small shack that was built and layered upon until it resembled a medium sized headquarters.
The front of the fort was painted white underneath all of the graffiti and artfully placed murals. Alkaline could tell all the murals were done by Neon as her signature was splayed across them. They were simply amazing and very colorful. It was the perfect Killjoy version of house paint. There were two windows on the front of the house on the lower floor and up above there was one magnificent center window that spanned about two-thirds across the wall. Covering the large view it provided was a huge killjoy spider flag in the middle and handmade banners with killjoy saying on the sides. The garage was a thing all unto its own. It was hexagon shaped and the roof curved up to make a dome. Alkaline wasn’t even sure it was a garage at all. It was painted electric blue with neon graffiti all over it and there was a huge satellite protruding from the dome-roof.
“Well, what do you think?” Neon asked as Alkaline’s jaw dropped in amazement.
“This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen. I want to shrink it and attach it to my bandana. I love it.”
“Thanks,” laughed Neon. She wasn’t used to compliments and she just brushed them off. “It’s a dump right now though. I mean I leave this place spotless and Three weeks later I come back to a hell hole.” she said as she tripped over a metal can. “Dammit!” she exclaimed as she kicked it harshly.
“Well I think it’s- Hey, somebody’s coming.”
“Neon! AHHH! I MISSED YOU! You asshole, you never called!” exclaimed Cellophane revenge as she ran up from the fort and squeezed Neon with a hug. “Hey, who’s the friend? Oh, wait. Double Ryder told me about you.”
“Hi. You must be Revenge. I’m Alkaline. Nice to meet you!” Alkaline said as she held out her hand for a handshake.
Revenge looked at the hand and laughed. “Hey, you come home with us, and you’re family!” she exclaimed and then proceeded to give her a big bear hug.
“Wow. Your very strong, haha!”
“Thanks. But not strong minded enough to break these stupid hacker signals we are getting in the Nerd Cave.”
Neon looked up, “What hacker signals?”
“Oh, this person named ParPoi. He keeps trying to disrupt our signal. Thinks we’re BL/ind or something.”
“You idiot! That is a FABULOUS KILLJOY! Everybody knows that that name is Party Poison’s user name for hacking signals!” Double Ryder exclaimed as she burst out of the fort onto the scene. “Hey, Neon. Hey, Alkaline.” she said quickly before going off again. “ Why didn’t you tell me this! He is my idol and you didn’t tell me, Rev?!”
Revenge looked down in embarrassment. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know. And besides, we don’t have the knowledge to get in contact with him anyway.”
Alkaline Insanity looked up quickly. “Actually, we do. I’ve been Hacking for five years now. I even got in touch with Dr. D once. Maybe I can do it?”
There was a long pause as all the other killjoys stared at her, mouths open wide. Neon spoke up with a smile, “Welcome to the family. It’s time for your first chore.”
Then, before Alkaline even made sense of what was happening, they were on their way to the Nerd Cave. This was going to be interesting.
