"That's the real fucking point of all of this." Gerard Way

I'm getting slightly frustrated with this. Ever since a scene in "Life On the Murder Scene" where gerard asks a girl in the audience about her shirt and states that "MCR saved her life" there has been a pandemic of emo kids claiming the band has saved their life. I understand that you were going to kill yourself before you heard the music. But was it ultimately the band that made you not want to kill yourself? Why are you resting your decision to kill, or not kill yourself, over music. It may be extremely amazing music mind you. But did the feelings of your friends and family take no effect in the matter. If you get a swoopy haircut and wear skinny jeans and LABEL yourself an emo. Don't complain that when you walk down the hall that everyone is yelling "EMO!" you brought that shit on yourself. So don't kill yourself because of it. Its up to ONE person to kill themselves, and that is the person with THAT specific thought. When you live past the pain, and the hatred and find yourself and find a good place in society for yourself, those feelings will leave. I myself went through that crap. I now SWEAR by skinny jeans and will be wearing these fuckers till the day i die. But MCR didn't SAVE MY LIFE. They created an outlet to my creative self to make the decision for MYSELF. MCR save lives, but when you go around and say "AS A FAD" that MCR saved your life. Your not only disgracing yourself, but the band too. To the point. thank you to those who actually allowed MCR into their lives and into salvation, But when you post on a forum 2,000,000 times a day that MCR saved your life...just to fit in....who are you fooling. Cause frankly, The power to save a life isn't in the music. Its in yourself.
