In Canada, 22% of the people are Native Peoples [Aboriginals]. The distinct groups of Athapaskan Indians are Gwitch'in, Han, Tutchone, Upper Tanana, Kaska, and Tagish. The Tlingit people were originally from the coast. The Athapaskans were in the vast interior forest whose culture and traditions go back 1,000 years ago.
