I hate having this discussion with my family ALL THE TIME

***I will be talking about Christianity in this blog, so feel free to skip it if you so choose***

So, my family is pretty much all against gay marriage. I am not. I'm straight, but I don't find anything wrong with it. We always talk about it. It'll come up for some reason or another, and the same debate always results. They think gay marriage shouldn't be legalized because it's wrong and against God and Christianity, and I say it shouldn't matter. The funny thing about this story? I am the only Christian in my family, and I'm the one who doesn't have a problem with it. The rest of my family just don't ever think about religion. So anyways, I always try to explain to them why I think what I do about homosexuality. Here is my argument:

They tell me it goes against God, because God created love to be between a man and a woman. To me, knowingly going against God and being homosexual is no different than knowingly going against God and having sex outside the commitment of marriage. Sex was made to glorify God through the love of two people. Having sex outside of marriage is a sin, yet how many people do it in the world? I am the only one in my family who hasn't had sex outside of marriage, and I'm the only one who is going to honor that commitment. Yet they can't accept the fact that no sin is worse than another. So if sinning by being sexually active outside of a marriage isn't bad, then why is the sin of being homosexual any different? It isn't. God said it himself: No sin is any better or worse than any other sin, and no sin is unforgivable. But, they will never agree with me.

Sorry, I had to get that off my chest. I hope I got my point across clearly.
