Convited: chapter 38

POV-Mikey- Gerard began to fall; I barely caught him before he hit the ground. “Kat!” I screamed. She ran in, grabbing Gerard’s feet and helped me carry him over and set him on the bed. Then we both ran out and rushed over to where Frank was holding Jessica. “Jess?” Kat asked. Jessica was in Frank’s lap, her face buried in Frank’s shoulder. Frank was rubbing her back, whispering in her ear. I open my mouth to say something, but Frank gave me a warning look. Kat keeled down in front of Frank and Jess, she grabbed Jess’s hand, stroking her thumb across it Jess’s hand. Renily appeared from Janelle’s room, she had the note that I found in her hand. She walked over and whispered into my ear. “Janelle ran away. Is that why Gerard passed out?” I turned and whispered back, “Yeah, I think so.” The answer to our problems was simple, we have to find Janelle.

POV-Renily- I looked about the room, Jessica was a mess, Frank was clueless, and through Mikey’s open bedroom door I seen Gerard passed out on Mikey’s bed. Mikey, who tries so hard to hold it together, was about to break. I could see it in his eyes. I walked slowly from the room, to my own, and shut the door with a soft click. I turned on some Mayday Parade, and began cleaning my room. Which was way messier than I planned for it to get, I tried very hard to block out all the presser that my life has been putting on me. I tried to get my facts straight in my head as I cleaned.
1) Janelle was gone, and we had to find her.
2) I liked Mikey. A lot.
But before I could think of number 3, I broke down. I turned up my music full blast, and screamed violently, kicking my mattress, and grabbed my baseball bat. I swung it around breaking and knocking things around the room. I covered my ears, even though it was pointless. I sat in a bunch a broken glass, not having a clue what it was from, and began balling. My world was far too heavy for my shoulders, but what’s a girl to do? Ending my life was certainly NOT an option. If there was a knock at my door, I couldn’t hear it. All I remember was hearing my music suddenly soft back ground music, and then Mikey was right beside me. He hugged me in the brotherly way he does, and lifted my head with his hand. “You’re not gonna leave to, are you?” he asked. I looked, really looked into Mikey’s eyes. then I realized that he wasn’t the complicated guy everyone thought he was. All Mikey really wanted was a friend. A true friend, a best friend, someone he could go to for anything, even things he couldn’t go to his own brother for. I suddenly wanted to be that best friend.
“‘All never go back to Georgia, not at least till I have to,’” I said, quoting my favorite Mayday Parade song (Jamie all over). He smiled, and said, “Well let’s just hope you never have to.” I grabbed Mikey’s hand, I could tell he was trying very hard, but failing miserably, at hiding his surprise. Mikey helped my off the glass covered floor, and into the living room, where Kat and I helped comfort Jess, while Mikey and Frank aided to Gerard.,
