POV-Bandit (still)- my dad stepped into my room shutting the door behind him. He walked over slowly and sat next to me on my full size bed, by the look on his face he didn’t know what to do next and something deep inside told me he knew something I didn’t. There wasn’t supposed to be any secrets between me and my dad, which was the pact we had made when mom died. We both thought it would make things easier if we didn’t keep anything from each other, since I didn’t have a single friend in the world who I could tell all my secrets too and go to whenever I needed help, I settled for my dad. My dad and I have been best friends since forever, I told him everything even things I never told my mom, and never once has he gotten mad or told anyone, part of that might just be because he is my dad, but the other part could be because he’s just that kind of person. As he sat next to me, he just stared at the concrete floor totally spacing out. “Dad, is there something you needed?” I said breaking the annoying silence. He snapped out of it looking up at me with a kind smile slowly forming on his face. I wished that he wasn’t so silent, whatever he needed, I just wish….”Okay, whatever you came in here for please just tell me because this silence is getting awkward and annoying!” I said playfully yet serious at the same time. He chuckled and said, “Bandit, I know you didn’t like Lisa, I’m sorry that I was acting so stupid. I’m sorry you got dragged into this mess and I’m sor-“ “Dad,” I began with a huge smile on my face, “ quit apologizing I forgave you the minute Janelle told me you broke up with the skanky -piece -of -no-good-white-trash. But I do know you like Janelle, so quite pretending because she isn’t a skank so if and when you marry her you don’t have to worry about me because Janelle is already a mom to me.” Honestly it felt good to say those words, because even though mom has been gone almost a full 7 and a half mouths and I miss her every single day like crazy, Janelle somehow lessens the pain in the part of me that really doesn’t care who it is (As long as it isn’t Lisa) but just wants a mother. There was another knock at the door. “Come in!” dad and I said in unison. Then Janelle stepped through the door, smiling when she seen both dad and me in here having a father-daughter heart to heart moment. “I’m I interrupting something?” she asked taking a step back out of the doorway. I shook my head no, and she stepped in shutting the door behind her. just like dad.
