CONVICTED: chapter 2
POV-Bandit- when I woke, I didn’t want to open my eyes, but when the images of my mother, laying in her casket began to replay in my head, my eyes shot open like a flying bullet. I had fallen asleep in my parent’s room, so as looked about I found that I was still there. I rolled over and also found my father lying next to me, he wasn’t asleep so when he seen I was awake he smiled and said: “Good morning Bandit” “Morning Dad. “ I glanced up at the clock on the wall, it read 7:50am. “Dad how long have I been sleeping?” “2 days” Wait, 2 days, if I fell asleep on Saturday that means… “Bandit honey,” my father broke through my thoughts,” You should go get ready for school, its Monday.” “Yes, thanks dad.” As if I hadn’t figured it out myself. I got up off the bed and strolled off to my room. Uncle Mikey and Aunt Alicia were asleep in my bed, so as quietly as I could, I went to my closet. I grabbed my favorite Simple Plan t-shirt, some skinny jeans (I wasn’t sure if they were mine or dads,) my Converse, and my amazing Evanescence hoodie. I jogged to the bathroom almost smacking into Frank. I didn’t bother to put on any make-up, sometime today I would cry and it would just get messed up, I quickly brushed my teeth and hair. While doing so I looked into the mirror. My eyes were still red and puffy from crying and I had sleep lined on my face. On my way to the door I grabbed my backpack, and ran to the car, where I found Frank. I got in and shoved my backpack onto the floor board. “I thought dad was taking me too school. “ We began backing out of the drive way, and were half way down the street when Frank finally spoke: “Oh, he was going to but, I figured he’s been through enough, so I let him rest for right now. He just fell asleep, after you left the room.” When we pulled up into the school parking lot, everybody was staring, but I couldn’t seem to figure out why.
POV-Janelle- I sat in my cell cold, and lonely, and still kind of confused. Obviously Gerard, Mikey, and Frank knew more than I did. Like for staters how I got convicted, and what evidence there was against me. Agent Morgan didn’t do a very good job at explaining anything. My trial was in a month, so that’s all I have to look forward to. I laid on my bed, and closed my eyes. I suppose I must have dozed of because i awoke to the sound of a police man yelling at me to wake up. I sat up then opened my eyes, I always do everything backwards. “this is your knew cell mate, her name is Shadow Jones, be nice and behave. He opened the gate, and Shadow walked in, he slammed it shut and walked off. Shadow sat in the darkest corner of the room, to where she only looked like a shadowy figure, ironic huh? A few days passed and Shadow and I hadn’t spoken one word to each other. Then one day out of complete nowhere, Shadow says in a voice that made her sound like Wednesday from the Adams Family : “ I know you didn’t kill Linz Way, there only locking you away to keep the presses noses out of it.” Weird, but I hadn’t thought about it like that before, but of course being in this rotting cell doesn’t help my thinking at all.
