Wishing for La La Land Chapter 2

Lana sighed and looked at her image in the mirror. Her hair was all out of wack, in what looked like twelve impossible cow licks. She sighed. Waving her dark green painted finger-nailed fingers over her head, she smiled at the image that was now in the mirror.
“Girls! You're gonna be late!” Her mother called. Ugh, another boring day at another boring school. Roswell High.
“Come on, little blue. We need to go!” Her sister called. Lana laughed. Just because she was one hour younger then Asriel doesn't mean she was little, but she didn’t' mind. Little Blue was a comforting nickname, these days.
Lana walked out of her bedroom to see Asriel standing at the door, grinning. Her curly fro was a bright red, and she was wearing her favorite Metallica tee-shirt and black leather pants. Lana, however, was in a more attention- grabbing outfit. She wore a black and green leather vest with a white tank top with lace under it, and dark green leather pants. Her almost-stiletto boots made her actually look taller then her sister, for once. She laughed to herself. Her sister cocked an eyebrow, looking Lana over.
“Should I be....worried?” She asked.
“Nah. It's just a new day.” Lana shrugged.
“First day, new classes, the whole nine yards.” her sister sighed.
“It won't be that bad.” Lana giggled. “Plus, with our new jobs at the Crash, we can get some extra cash for this weekend.” She winked.
“I don't get it. Why do we want to work for a cheesy Alien themed restaurant?” her sister asked.
“Sooooo....the tips are good?” Lana said. They both laughed.
“See you two after work then.” Their mom said, giving them both their lunch money.
“Thanks mom!” They chorused and walked out of the house toward school.

When they reached the high-school, there were kids hanging around the grounds, drinking coffee, or talking, reading, or just chilling.
“Wow. This must be the place to be.” Lana said to her sister. Asriel smiled.
“Well, I brought my guitar.” Asriel said. “Shall we do our usual set?”
“You know, Asie, I don't think I want to. I know it's our usual, but I'm not feeling that well.” Lana said, getting her normal first day butterflies.
“Come on.” Asriel said, smiling knowingly. “Look, it's all the same people from last year. We know all their names, it will be okay.” She said. Lana smiled nervously.
“So, our usual.” She said, blushing a little.
Asriel started strumming. “I've been cheated by you since I don't know when.” she sang. Lana's eyes brightened.
“So I made up my mind it must come to an end.” She sand.
“Look at me now. Will I ever learn?” Asriel sang.
“I don't know how, but I suddenly lose control.” Lana answered.
“There's a fire within my soul.” Asriel sang before they both harmonized, singing,
“Just one look and I can hear a bell ring, one more look and I forget everything. Whoa. Mama Mia. Here I go again. My, my how can I resist you. Mama Mia, does it show again? My, My, just how much I missed you.” They sang, and then laughed, their spirits finally brightened.
Then, the bell rang.
“OH! No!” Lana complained.
“Come on.” Asriel laughed. She stood up, holding out her hand for her sister.
Lana smiled and accepted the offer. They both headed toward the ranch-like school in front of them.
“Let's hope for the best.” Lana said, getting that unsteady feeling, again.
