Wishing for La La Land Chapter 1

(Hello, Fabulous Killjoys! Here's a new fanfic! I hope you like it!)
“No! Don't touch me!” Lana yelled. She tossed her blue hair out of her face as she was dragged out to the small, yet secure black car.
“You betrayed us!” She screamed, as the rest of her slender body was shoved into the car. It wasn't fast enough, though. Mikey could see the tears, tinted with red, fall out of her round eyes.
Mikey turned away. He thought he knew her. He really did. What he did was for the best, right?
“Well, son, that was one brave thing you did there.” The sheriff said, walking up to him. He had a toothpick in his teeth, and a real grimace on his face.
“Well, sir. I had to do what I had to do. You don't think....don't think they'll hurt them, do you?” He asked, with innocent eyes.
“Son, you can't be sure of anything when it comes to girls like these.” The sheriff said, looking at him with honest eyes.
“Then, what will happen?” Mikey asked, now worried.
“Like I said, son. You did your job. You'll be safe from here on out. Don't worry about it.” He said, spitting his toothpick out onto the sandy ground.
“But! I can't, but!” Mikey stuttered.
“Just go home, kid. It's all over. You'll never see them again. It never happened. Just go home.” The sheriff answered.

(two months before)
“You know, Mikes, if you just thought about this. Please. New Mexico can be a real big chance for us, you know?” Gerard said.
“I really don't know. I mean, 'home of the aliesns'. It's so cheesy.” Mikey complained.
“I know, right? It's so weird. But good for business, no?” Gerard laughed.
“Yeah, I'm sure mom and dad will milk us for all the Alien Art they can get.” Mikey laughed.
“And I hear there's this really awesome hangout, that all the kids from school are going to every weekend, it's called Silver Lining. It's really awesome.” Gerard said.
“What? Silver Lining? Is that, like, the best they can do? That's a really cheesy name!” Mikey scoffed.
“I know, right? But I hear there's a lot of hotties in there.” Gerard grinned.
“What? Ugh. Gee, you'll make me sick.” Mikey scoffed.
“Hey, everyone goes there. You know what? We might even get you to sing a solo or something. Sometimes they let newbies have a gig up there.” Gerard said.
“Gerard. Really.” Mikey looked at his brother. Gerard's face was so excited. The real reason they came here was there was an exceptional art program in that school. They said that over dozens of modern and comic book artists had learned there, and become big. How could Gerard resist?
“I just....I really want this place to be somewhere we remember, Mikes, forever. You know?” Gerard said.
“Okay...okay...fine. You win. I'll make sure that we can get through this really well. You know? I'll stop complaining. You'll have to promise me one thing, though.” Mikey said.
“What?” Gerard grinned.
“NO setting me up for any dates. Okay?” Mikey asked, giving his brother the most innocent of eyes.
“I don't know, Mikey. How can I promise something like that?” Geard asked.
“Come on! Just promise already!” Mikey laughed.
“Fine, fine. Mikey, I promise you, I won't set you up for any dates.” Gerard said.
“Good.” Mikey laughed.
“Let's finish unpacking.” Gerard laughed. They both pulled out the last of their suitcases and started pulling out the random items that were stuffed in every corner of the bags. Mikey looked out the window for a second. Nothing but desert. It sure looked like there was something...odd about this place. Odd, but eventful.
