My story part 2

The next day, I didn't see the guys or the cheerleaders from yesterday at all. Great. Alone all day. At least the three girls weren't there to bother me that day. But, I couldn't get the events of the day before out of my head. Clearly, the cheerleaders wanted me for some reason, or something I knew about.
Later that day, I looked up Gerard's number in the phonebook and tried to call him, but no one picked up the phone. I tried again five minutes later, but the same thing: no answer. What was up with them? I wondered. Did they want to hang out with me? Did I do something wrong the other day? Or by knocking that girl out, and aparently breaking her nose did I scare them away? Wouldn't have been the first time. Weird stuff like this had been happening at my schools for the past three years. On my field hockey team a few years ago, I broke one girls leg while going for the ball, because the same thing with the power surge inside of me happened that day at the game. What was happening to me? Was I some kind of super-freak of nature? Or was I just a freak? The next time I saw the guys I was going to ask them what was happening.

"All right, what happened to you yesterday? I didn't see you all day, and I tried to call you but you didn't pick up the phone." I said to Gerard the next day, "I mean- did I do something wrong or did I scare you away? And what was up with the cheerleaders?" He grabbed my arm and pulled me off to the side. "Look, all you need to know is to stay away from the cheerleaders, and lay low for a bit. Just about everyone knows about what happened the other day, and they know that you broke that girl's nose. So like I said, just lay low for a little bit until all of this blows over," he said to me, and then walked away. The other three were waiting over by his locker, and they started talking. "Who are you Gerard? I'm gonna figure out what's going on here if it kills me." I said to myself.

Three days later, I was walking down the oddly empty hallway by myself when the girls walked up behind me. I didn't hear them, but I felt like someone was watching me. I turned around, but they hid before I could see them. As I kept walking down the hallway, one of them silently covered my eyes with her hand and put a wet rag over my mouth and nose. Whatever was on the rag smelled funny and put me to sleep in seconds. Chloroform. Before I went down, I thought I saw Gerard running towards the girls with something big and shiny in his hand and say to them "Back away from Rory NOW." Then I blacked out.
