My eyes widened. "YOUR DAD IS KORSE?" She jumped up and covered my mouth "SHUT UP! I don't want anyone to know." I nodded my head. "You're not gonna tell anyone?" She asked me. I nodded again. "So if I take my hand off of your mouth, you're not gonna say anything to anyone?" I nodded one more time. "Okay." She took her hand off of my mouth slowly. "All right." She said. She patted my shoulder and I said. "So, why did you become a Killjoy? I would've thought Korse's daughter would do whatever he says." She got up and started pacing. "Well, when he started thinking about creating BLI, I was only little. Maybe like ten. I didn't really understand what he meant when he said 'Daddy's going to rule the world someday.' When I was sixteen, he acutally started BLI, and then I fully understood how evil my dad really was. The drugs. Taking away individuality. Watching everyone all the time. Punishing people who didn't follow the rules. Then the people who dissappeared. My mom, and my two brothers for starters. He told me I was his little princess and that he would never do that to me. But I didn't belive him. I knew what he was capable of, so I ran away. I stayed with some other Killjoys living in the city. My best friend and her mom, to be exact. Then, I got home one day, and their house was burned down, along with my friend and her mom. That was when I became a Killjoy. My father was furious with me. He would beat me just about every day, like you saw our in the desert. He said he was trying to beat the Killjoy out of me. Each time I ran away, he would find me again." Then, something in her face changed. "He took my brothers!" She said, then she crumpled to the ground, sobbing. I ran towards her and rocked her in my arms. "How could someone like you be related to someone so evil like him?" I asked. She shook her head. "I've got no idea." She said with a shaky voice. "You'll be okay here." I said. "Your dad won't get you here."
She fell asleep fifteen minutes later. I laid her down in my bed and said again "You'll be safe here. Don't worry." I tried to walk away, but something stopped me. Jessika was gripping my hand so tight I couldn't let go. I sat down next to her on the bed, rubbing her back while she slept. "I love you." I said to her. I knew she couldn't hear me, but I didn't care.
