Who or What Has the Most Rabid Fans/Fangirls? (OR: An English Class Well Spent)

In answer to this question, some may say the Jonas Brothers, remembering screams echoing in their skulls from the boys' visit to Much On Demand. Others may lean towards Twilight, thinking fondly of many an internet fight about the logicality of the, er, *Saga*. But I say otherwise.

Jonas Brothers fangirls may be quick to defend their beloved boy band when the insults begin to fly, but they do it in a short-and-sweet sort of way. In internet arguments, Jonas Brothers fans are quick to retreat. Perhaps they know they are already defeated. Or maybe their love for the Brothers is so strong they don't /need/ to make us believe them. What do I know?

Twilight fans don't qualify for the prize because, while many are incredibly rabid and insistent with their (useless) points, there are also sane Twilight fans who are capable of conversing about the books without ending up in a *shouting* match. (Believe it or not, I actually like talking about the books every once in a while. I enjoy hearing opinions opposing mine. When it's calm and open-minded.)

In my opinion, the most rabid fans out there are the fans of Tokio Hotel.

Of course, I exclude myself from this. If you tell me Bill looks like a girl, I'll agree with you. But I'll say he looks like a SEXY girl and you'll look at me weird and walk away slowly.

So. Yes. The following is the reason I'm typing this up here on MCR rather than, say, neopets, or my Youtube channel, or, God forbid, the Tokio Hotel site.

Most Tokio Hotel fans frighten me.

Go on Youtube and check out any number of their videos. There will be the mandatory hate paragraph...and this will be followed by a rant from a fan that may or may not run for pages (okay, I'm exaggerating a bit).

And then there are the Bill-is-gay comments and, more importantly, the replies to them from fans. And this is a thing I desperately need to rant about or my head will explode from annoyance.

Going back to the grade eight idea of True Fans vs Posers...a TRUE fan wouldn't give a damn if the lead singer of their favourite band were gay. And yet, every sing Tokio Hotel music video has a handful of Bill-is-gay comments, and every one of THOSE has a goddamn fangirl rant about how he IS NO-O-OT!!1one1!!!11!1 Why the bloody hell does it even matter, fangirls? Me, I couldn't care less. My bitchy theory is that those girls just have enormous crushes, but whatever. Been there, done that (hi, Gerard). Right, and if I dare say "who cares", I am, apparently, the bad fan in the situation.

One word:
Fragezeichengesicht?
Or, in English, three words:
Question Mark Face?

So yes. Give me Twitards or JoBro-heads any day. Just don't make me deal with the Tokio Hotel lovers.

And to round off this piece of writing, I'll say: This is yet another reason to love MCR. Their fans are generally not insane! Their fans are able to keep their cool! (At least in my experience.)

Peace.

That's /exactly/ what I mean! =D

Don't be sorry, I love comments. And thank you. XD
English class well spent indeed!

Yeah, that might be true. Interesting idea. And it's not bitchy at all, because if it was, you'd believe it was too bitchy and wouldn't think about it. (I don't know if you get it..)It's realistic. Defending their Bill from the insults is a way for them to make themselves believe he isn't gay, so they can go on and not get their hearts broken, I guess. It's a theory. But we've pretty much all went through that, so I can't say anything more about celebrity crushes without punching myself or fainting from overload...
Sorry for the double comment, but your blog entry is way too awesome. :D

Thanks for reading it, amigo. x3

True dat.
I have met about two Jonas Brothers fans that like them a looot, but it's true that they're really okay, when you get to understand them.
And right now, who likes Twilight and who hates it doesn't even matter anymore. If someone tells a fan they hate it, the 'Twihard' would just act bored and start another conversation, because, really, it's been done. The era in which Twilight haters could offend fans easily is long gone.
I've met one Tokio Hotel fan, and she had a crush on Bill's brother (what's-his-name), but she was okay as well.
I guess that people are really more agressive on the Internet than face-to-face, because all the fans (of pretty much anything, except MCR) I've met, I've met them in school and they're normal.
Thanks for blogging about that! :D
