Ashes To Ashes

Life collapses, your mind relapses
And then it all comes falling down
Screaming out of your constantly chapped lips
Sworn you heard laughing as you came around
Silently in your misery, since you never have kissed anyone
You decided to just simply stitch your lips shut
But you are screaming bloody murder as a pun
Pleading for help, hard at the top of your lunges and deep cuts
Holding sharp scissors as you run across your flooded little room
Slipping on the blood your mum told you to sweep up with a broom
Soon they’ll see your masterpiece
Soon they’ll see you in pieces, pieces
All the metal on your floor and down the hallway all day
Mother said that you were supposed to hide
By the time child protection services came by
But you never did your chores or even listened anyway
The pain in my throat has finally risen up, it’s already done, it’s over
I can’t even remember my name and I’ve lost my four-leafed clover
It’s too late for me, it’s too late for me, just leave me behind
But if you glance down at the stains then you’ll see the signs
And with my half empty cup, full of what you think is wine
I’m not going anywhere now, so feel free to take your time
But after it all comes crashing down
If you don’t end up under the ground
Put down the bullet, get off the chair
Grab an I.V. and stitch up those tears
Look around, nothing about life is fair
But don’t let your sound get drowned out
If you haven’t shot your mouth off you can still shout
Because there’s always someone somewhere out there
Nobody knows what you’ve felt, if it hurts then yell
Nothing else is worse, so scream the whole way down to hell
But if hell doesn’t want you and chucks you back up
It appears you’re stuck here, you haven’t quite run out of luck
If you haven’t shot your mouth off you can still shout
And there’s always someone somewhere out there
Just look around, nothing about life is fair
But don’t let your sound get drowned out
Soon they’ll see your masterpiece
Soon they’ll see you in pieces, pieces
