Rock Is Dead

Hello! A lovely Killjoy named Roxieanne123 recently posted a blog acknowledging her favorite bands and lamenting modern music and wishing for a "rock revolution" and this sparked me to write this :) well, actually, this is (most of) the comment I posted on her blog but I thought it would be a good blog for myself and I kinda wanted to be able to hang onto it. Anyway, I'm gonna stop rambling and give way to ranting now :P
I think rock's time is up. It was popular for, what, half a decade? and then the techno sound was discovered which was stuck into rock songs (the popular songs) and elevated pretty far, getting less and less real instruments and more and more synthetic. And don't even get me started on autotune. I mean once that came out everything changed, no one seems to need to have any sort of talent at all. I base exactly how tolerable pop songs are by the amount of autotune they contain. Seriously, someone played a song the other day and I had no idea what kind of person sang it. It was so autotuned that I couldn't picture what sort of person would be able to sound like that, whether age, gender, ethnicity I had no idea. It turned out being 12 year old black boys, but it could have just as easily have been a 30 year old Mexican woman, I had no idea.
Rock is dead, and it has just as much chance of coming back as classical or that big band stuff from the 20's. It’s gone, dude.
