Inspirational Rant. Read if you want :)

After a long time of being in denial and being mad and just…miserable, I’ve decided to move on from MCR and accept that they have in fact ended. It took me awhile, but after some soul searching and reminiscing in old memories it just seems like the better option. MCR breaking up forced me to grow up a little bit. I realized that my heroes aren’t superhuman, which both broke my heart and made me stronger. MCR is the band that got me into rock music. They were my gateway band, so to speak! I found something in them that I had never experienced before, and latching onto the fan base and learning that love doesn’t always have to be between two people who know each other was both a scary and an awesome experience. Rock music and emo music and metal are all associated with things like fighting, drinking, smoking, and kids who self harm—and I’m not saying that people who listen to metal aren’t into that, some are—but what most people don’t realize is that when you go to a concert for one of those bands in those genres, everyone in that crowd is a family for a few moments. They look out for each other, the pick each other up when they fall. Literally. Everyone has fun, and nobody is an outsider. I’ve never seen that happen with any other genre. It’s inspiring to see 4 or 500 strangers to dance and cry and laugh with each other over music, not knowing anyone in the crowd but feeling connected with each other nonetheless. MCR was a huge example of this, and even though they’re no longer together themselves, I’ll still hold on to the memories of watching them bring people together. I will try to honor everything they stood for, and I’ll continue this chapter of my life with a little more wisdom than I had before. Thank you for everything, Frank, Gerard, Mikey, and Ray, but now it’s time to say so long, and goodnight.
