Anyone who actually bothers to read my blogs knows that I at least attempt to write lyrics. But nothing can ever compare to what Gerard writes. I'm serious, what he writes is just so blatantly honest that its almost hard to take in. This song is probably one of the most emotional moving songs for me, considering how much it can relate to anyone. There's always that one beautiful person a midst the ugly world. There's always that one rose standing in the pollution, refusing to wilt. Now I'm not sure if that person of mine is so beautiful anymore. They're thinking of her, and not thinking of me. But that's okay, I'll move on in this ugly world if I can find my other rose.
What Gerard writes can connect to anyone, in some way. Whether its the meaning of a metaphor he's using, or a legit lyric straight out of the song, he will connect to anybody and everybody, and that's why I write his lyrics in my notebook during class. Scrawl them all over my hands and arms, my legs and ankles, trying to have my body soak in their meaning and make the words of comfort TRUE for me. I want to be able to do what Gerard does, make a person FEEL so much that it's almost to much to handle, but it isn't. It slaps a person right out of any numbness they've been feeling, and brings them back to reality, to emotion.
This band saves peoples lives, and I am proud to say that every single one of the members in the beautiful band My Chemical Romance, Mikey, Ray, Gerard, Frank, every single one I look up to, hoping I'll be that important and meaningful someday.
The world is ugly, but you are beautiful to me.
