It is now my life goal to learn to play guitar. I'm not even fucking kidding. I can play a couple chords, sure, but I'm not great at it. And after today, I sure as FUCK am learning to play as well as I can.
I was at this music store today, because my little sister Anna had clarinet lessons. When my mom, Anna, and I walked in, my mom went to go read a book in the waiting area while Anna went into the lesson room with her teacher, and I by instinct went straight for the pianos. There was a new cherry wood baby grand piano, that I absolutely drooled over and I played that for a while before I ran out of songs that I knew by heart. I looked across the room, and I saw one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen hanging on the wall.
It was a white guitar with slightly green tinted strings, but most importantly, it looked a LOT like Pansy. If any of you don't know, Pansy was one of Frank's old guitars, before he got his Phant-o-matic from Epiphone. Pansy was a white guitar with big, sparkly, silver block lettering going across her body spelling out her name, PANSY.
This was like the before model of Pansy before she got branded. But this was seriously one of the most gorgeous electric guitars I had ever seen. I got up from the piano bench and literally just stood in front/ below the guitar and just gawked at it with my mouth literally hanging open. One of the employees came over, and he was an older guy. The kind that looked like he actually gave a shit about music. And he asked, "guitar shopping?" And I replied, "I wish." I told him how much I loved the guitar and why and how it looked like my favorite guitarists old guitar, who he had named Pansy. He laughed at the name a little, but in the nice way. He told me that the guitar belonged to the owner of the music store, and that it was signed by the creator of the guitar. He told me he didn't think they made the model anymore and I was like: D:
But then he said: But we have one like it if you wanna see.
He took me over to another wall and showed me: the love of my life.
It was a slightly smaller guitar, but it was god damn beautiful
He told me: It has a little different shape on her body, but it has the same white finish. You want to play it?
On the outside I was like: Sure but on the inside I was like: HAAAAH DFSKAFJDSKLFS YES!
He joked about how hopefully she was tuned and I strummed her a little and he told me: We can hook it up to an amp if you want? And all I did was nod. He took the guitar back and strummed her once and then said: oops, not quite tuned, so he tuned her up real quick, plugged her in,messed with the amp a little, and gave her back to me.
I strummed her once, and it was like my heart exploded.
I have NEVER in my life played a tuned electric guitar, hooked up to an amp. I have played a shitty, out of tune electric guitar that had no amp, and that is all.
This was a gorgeous, white and in tune and in GOOD SHAPE guitar that was hooked up to a quality amp, and it was probably one of the best feelings I've ever had.
I wanted to play her forever, seriously. She was so much easier to play than an acoustic, my fingers slid really smoothly from fret to fret, and I played the guitar solo in S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W and I literally DIED.
But of course, my little sister ran over and told me it was time to go after about a minute of playing.
I will get that guitar if it is seriously the last thing I do, and I will learn to play well enough so I am worthy to play on her.
She was a used guitar, and is originally about $500. I know its pretty cheap for a guitar, but she wasn't the best model, but she was perfect. But, since its a used guitar (even though its in perfect condition. The employee said she probably wasn't played much. I wanted to slap the previous owner of the guitar for not taking advantage of something so fantastic.) the price was lowered to about $250 (or maybe $215, didn't hear the guy very well. I was too busy drooling over the guitar.)
My little sister even vowed to help me get money for the guitar. She already put all of her money into a little box that said: To help Mimi get her guitar.
I have amazing siblings.
I AM GOING TO GET THAT GUITAR AND WHEN I DO SHE SHALL BE NAMED BETSY! I AM NOT EVEN FUCKING KIDDING!
