The worst part is that the homophobes are my friends parents. My friend, Taylor, is bisexual like me. We had a thing a while back, when we both were in a tough period in our lives, and now we are just friends. However, we did have a thing and its still means something (a lot) to me.
But anyway, why I'm going to slap her homophobic parents. Taylor was texting me and she told me: I fucking hate homophobes. and I said: I know the feeling. What happened :(
And she told me that her dad was watching the election shit and she said: I don't care anymore who wins, one won't have abortion made illegal and one doesn't support gay rights. her dad responded: and what you do? and she shook her head yes and she said: what are you going to judge me now?
And he said: its just not right.So she throws in: Am I not right then? Do you not remember Mim---
And her dad cut her off with the most insensitive and ass hole comment I think I've ever heard: Honey you can fuck whatever guy you please, but the day you give your heart to a girl, don't expect to get recognized in our family.
So she responds: So if I came out right now....?
And her dad just sat there, silent.
It REALLY FUCKING PISSED ME OFF. Especially since I think I'm in the same situation. My mom literally straight out told my older sister one day that she doesn't want a lesbian daughter, but what if her daughter is half? What then? I have two gay cousins and my aunt is married to my Aunt Karen, but my mom has never really liked my two gay cousins, and my mom kind of doesn't recognize the fact that my two aunts are married to each other.
I'm pretty sure if I ever officially came out my grandparents would like....dis own me as their grand daughter or something..... I don't know but it just pisses me off.
THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH LOVE! GAY, LESBIAN, BISEXUAL, PAN SEXUAL, WHATEVER YOU ARE THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU, YOU JUST LOVE A LITTLE DIFFERENTLY! FTW!
