So, yeah, I'm back at it again with the songwriting. This one's kind of slow and sweet and sad all at the same time. It's got the same sort of dark, Gothic thing going on that Evanescence has. I believe the idea I had came from "Imaginary" by Evanescence, "Innocence" by Avril Lavigne, "Brick by Boring Brick" by Paramore, "Fences" by Andre J. Thomas (this is a choral piece), and the nursery rhyme "Mary Had A Little Lamb". Enjoy.
Close your eyes
Make believe
Hocus-pocus
And pretty things
Innocence of childhood
Hold my hand in darkness
Brick by brick I'll build this wall
Trembling inside my soul
Ignorance is blissfully beautiful
Never will I feel that way again
Again!
I cannot hide
I shall not hide
I will not hide
Close your eyes
Make believe
Hocus-pocus
And pretty things
Innocence of childhood
Hold my hand in darkness
Ah, ah,
Ah, ah, ah
Whisper now, don't let them hear
Tremble now, embrace your fear
Run now, fly away, fly away, fly away!
Away!
Close your eyes
Make believe
Hocus-pocus
And pretty things
Innocence of childhood
Hold my hand in darkness
They say we must have no fences
No boundaries, borders, or wire!
But to block out the monsters
The witches and demons
We must build a wall!
A wall!
Close your eyes
Make believe
Hocus-pocus
And pretty things
Innocence of childhood
Hold my hand in darkness
Close your eyes
Make believe
Hocus-pocus
And pretty things
Innocence of childhood
Hold my hand in darkness
Mary had a little lamb
Fleece white as snow
It followed her all around
And oh, it loved her so
