I Was Gifted With An Amazing Dream Last Night. Chapter 6

I slid down the cold, hard wall of the hotel’s hallway beside the door of Gerard’s room. He would still possibly be there in the middle of the room shocked by my reaction. Hot tears burned my eyes and face as they escaped from my flooded eyes. I fall to the floor and curled myself up into a ball and waited for my crying to stop. The door opened next to me and I waited for Gerard to walk out and confront me, but he didn’t, he wasn’t the one to come out. Frank stood there staring at me, I could only imagine what he was seeing: puffy red eyes, red face, runny nose, shaky hands, all the tears streaming down my face and the water patches on my shirt. I didn’t know what to do, my head told me to run but something else inside of me was telling me to stay. He was possibly going to mock me again or at least attempt to crack a joke, but there was something different about him, there was care in his eyes which I didn’t expect. He walked over to me, sat down and rested his head against the wall and took a deep breath. I knew that wasn’t a good sign he was about to say something meaningful, or difficult to say.

“I’ve never fall for a girl as fast as he did with you, I thought it was a bit quite but when we saw you perform on stage the night we and you met, he said it there that you were the one for him. Then he saw Max and you two seemed like a couple.” Frank stretched out his arms out in front of him and then placed them on his lap. He still didn’t look at me, he was trying to help a friend but he clearly didn’t know what to say, and he seemed unsure of what he was doing. “That whole night he was going on about how Max didn’t deserve and then he told us that you didn’t even want to be in the band. I don’t know how Gerard knew that before you told him but he did. Then when you told him that you wanted to leave the band, he straight away started to make plans for you.” I turned my head to look at Frank, he was still looking straight ahead and I wasn’t going to force him to look at me, I just wanted to know where he was going with this. I continued to wait for him to continue but he didn’t, he just kept looking straight forward. Then he took another deep breath and slowly turned his head to me. I didn’t know what he was going to say, I felt like I didn’t know anything anymore. “I know he loves you, and you make him happy so the guys and I are going to leave for a while and you and Gerard needs to work things out while we are gone. Okay?” Frank continued to look at me and then I realised that he was asking a question and he was awaiting my answer. “Okay,” I replied in a quiet voice. He stood up and walked to the door to go back in. “You wait here, and when the guys and I leave you can go in.”

Frank, Ray and Mikey seemed to leave as soon as Frank walked back into the room. I watched them turn the corner and disappear out of my sight. Now it was my turn. Turning the nob of the door was extremely difficult with my sweaty palms and I wasn’t the one who opened the door, because as I had my hand around the nob someone on the other side turned it and opened the door. Gerard looked at me and I could see his eyes watering, and the only thing I could think of was that I had broken another heart without meaning to. He continued to stare at me but I was still unsure of what to do. And it came to me that the best thing for me to do was to walk into the room, so I walked passed him and went to the middle of the room which was where we were before. “I started to think that you had run off,” Gerard closed the door behind me and then joined me in the middle of the room. “I am so sorry, I just didn’t know what to do” I mumbled my words as I put my arms around him and started to listen to the sound of his heart. “I was scared but I don’t want to, I want this” the words may have come from my mouth but they sounded more confident. Gerard them wrapped his arms around me. We stayed that way for what seemed like forever, just holding one and other.

“Dreamer are we going to talk or are we just going to keep hugging” Gerard chuckled.
“Hugging sounds good” I said as my nerves kicked in again. Gerard let go of me carefully and then walked me over to the couch and sat me down beside him. Once again I found myself staring at the grown so I could avoid his eye contact. “Dreamer as I said before I have really strong feelings for you and I want to make you happy, but when you ran off I realised that maybe I wasn’t the one for you and that maybe you weren’t ready to be with someone yet…” I could tell that he was holding back some of his emotions because he didn’t know how I would react. I had to interrupt so he understood how I was feeling, “No I am ready, you just court me off guard. I want to be with someone and maybe it’s about time I tell him.” Gerard looked at me with a half disappointed and confused expression on his face, obviously he didn’t realise I was talking about him. “Gerard, I want to be with you. As you say I have very strong feelings for you too.” I watch delight spread across his face.
“So you want to be with me?”
“Didn’t I just say that” I replied with a giggle. This time I was the one to move in closer, I could tell that Gerard was still hesitant because of what had happened last time. Gerard then realised that this was the way of me showing him that it was okay. He moved in closer and tucked my hair behind my ear, “are you sure Dreamer?”
“Yes.” Our faces were less than a centimetre apart when the door was opened.

Ray walked into the room, but as soon as he saw us guilt immediately fall over his face, he was so unsure of what to do so he stood their awkwardly trying to come up with a plan of what to do. Soon enough Mikey and Frank pushed passed Ray into the room and paused just like he had. “Oh sorry, but you said to come back in 20 minutes so we could get started on the album. Well it’s been 20 minutes and we’re ament to be in the studio tomorrow to record.” Ray said, they had clearing planned everything out before I had come yesterday. The guys shared looks among each other I felt as though they were sending messages to one and others’ brains. “So how about we start now and we will leave you two tonight?” Mikey’s plan sound alright to me. “That sound great, what to do think Gerard?” I turned to Gerard and waited for him to reply. He was smiling at me and he seemed happy with how I was trying to keep everything under control. He nodded his head “Yes that sounds great. Now how about you teach us some of your song and then we can decide which ones would be best on the album.”

The next few hours were full on and we didn’t stop working for at least 12 hours. I spent the time teaching Ray and Frank the guitar parts to my songs and Mikey the bass part to my songs. For the rest of the time Gerard and I spent the time writing new songs and working out vocal melodies and harmonies. I was surprised of how well it was all working out. The music sounded amazing and I was starting to realise what was missing from when I was in the band. The music didn’t really mean anything, when the music has meaning then what you are doing has meaning. Throughout the day I grow tireder and tireder and it wasn’t before long that I was asleep in Gerard’s arms. My mind started to drift off into a dream, but I couldn’t remember the dreams I had dreamt of by the time I woke up.

I opened my eyes and lifted my head up from the pillow that had been placed underneath me. I slowing sat up and looked around to find myself in one of the bedrooms. The walls were covered with white and silver wallpaper with a circler patient covering it. The white carpeted floor seemed thick and woolly; I straight away wanted to walk across the floor so I could feel the softness between my toes. I looked up to the ceiling, there was a silver chandelier hanging from the white ceiling. The room was beautiful but I didn’t remember how I had got there. I looked around the room again and realised that something was missing, something very important. I jumped out of the bed and ran out of the bedroom. I then stopped as soon as I saw Gerard sitting on the couch writing in a notebook. He looked up at me. My heart was racing and I found it hard to catch my breath. The fear that was running through my body a few seconds ago was gone and I started to care down again, but Gerard still noticed the fear in my eyes and came over to me.

“Hey are you alright?” I quickly put my arms armed him and held on. I didn’t know how to answer his question but I didn’t need to. “Was it because I wasn’t there when you woke up? I was going to stay with you but I all of a sudden had a great idea for a new song. I was going to come back in a few minutes but you woke up. I’m sorry, I really am.” Once he paused I then squeezed tighter, I didn’t want to let go. “Do you want to go back to bed; the sun isn’t even up yet? Or we could stay up for a little while longer and have that evening that the guys promised us.” I started to think quickly of what I wanted to do, and then I decided on what to do. “Can we just sit and talk?” I asked as I held on to him.
“Sure of course we can.”

He walked me over to the couch and sat me down beside him and then took my hands. He could tell that I was still shaken up a bit. “What did you want to talk about?” his voice was as smooth as honey and I found myself willing to share all my thoughts with him. “Before I came here a few years ago I lived somewhere different, I came from Australia. After I graduated high school I left and that was that, I was here and it was hard but then the band came along and it was amazing till it wasn’t anymore.” I stopped, trying to think of more things to tell him but I couldn’t think of anything and once again I felt myself drifting off to sleep again. I didn’t want to but Gerard wrapped with arms around me and told me to sleep and I couldn’t disobey him anymore.
