Chapter 16
“So we should just walk right up to the front doors of BL/Ind. and attack them with all of the new Killjoys we have,” Ghoul said.
“That was kind of what I was saying earlier, but you denied it,” Kobra pointed out.
“Well, now I have more confidence I guess…”
“Whatever. So we need to figure out where the BL/Ind. entrance is exactly.”
“Well, I should know, ‘cause I almost got killed trying to escape from there,” Star said. “We need to go there, and it’s around the side of the building, if you’re on the street. I can’t believe that I’m gonna go back to that horrible place.”
“It’ll all be over once we overthrow them,” Static reminded her.
“Right.”
“So what side of building is it on?” Jet asked.
“If you’re on the street, to the right, and if you are in the dirt, to the left.”
“Okay. So if we invade from the street, we would be giving them a few minutes to prepare for the attack, and if we come from the back, they might not notice and we would take them by surprise,” Kobra said.
“We should do that, then. Let’s tell Party,” Demon said.
“Tell me what?” Party said, walking into the room.
“How we are gonna break into BL/Ind.,” Static said.
“Okay, spill.”
“So we were thinking that maybe we should just go to the entrance and catch them there, or sneak up from behind and take them by surprise,” Jet said. “They might not work, but it’s our best shot.”
Party pondered what Jet said. “Okay. I’ll tell the other Killjoys and maybe we can work something out.” He walked out of the room to the other Killjoys.
Cyanide walked into the room. “Hey guys. So, with the condition of some of these people, I’m not sure if we are gonna be able to invade BL/Ind. for awhile,” he reported.
“Well, we can take the people who are well enough to fight and see what they can do,” Ghoul said.
“Okay. So how’s your song coming?”
“Pretty good, actually. We’re almost finished.”
“Cool.”
Cyanide said that he needed to get back to his patients and left.
“I’m really tired guys, so I’m gonna take a little nap,” Ghoul said.
“Um, okay,” Static said. “We’ll work on the song in another room.”
“No, no! The sound of people singing and stuff helps me sleep.”
“Oh, okay…”
Ghoul lay down on the floor and Star got him some blankets she found in a closet. “Thanks,” Ghoul said to Star.
“No problem,” Star said. She smiled at Ghoul and sat back down on the couch next to Jet, who was silently playing the guitar.
“I never… said I’d lie in wait forever…” Jet sang softly.
Ghoul fell asleep to Jet singing the final verse and playing guitar to the Ghost of You.
