Why are people still calling MCR emo?!

It's just something that bugged me. I really like the youtubers Smosh, and they recently posted a video called "Top 30 emo names." They didn't create it, they just posted it on there site. But in the comment section, people were discussing their views on the video, and kinda having an arguement about emos. They were debating if they're hot or not. Anyways, this was someone's comment:

"some emos are well hot i mean have u seen My Chemical Romance!!X"

Seriously? I mean at least this person was trying to post a compliment, but they really could of done it in a different way. I don't know this just sort of bothers me.
