Honest to God

Honest to God

Just a poem I wrote during the free time after my Living Skills exam (:

"Honest to God"

This quiet desperation, expressions speak louder than words
Are you dying inside? A silent plea for help
Where're the floats they promised? Or will we drown?
I don't think they can save us now

You aren't the first, we won't be the last
They came and destroyed what was once me (once us)
This shell you call a body
Or my soul begging to be freed?

I'm just a reflection, nothing but a lie
But if I confess
They'd tie me up and burn me
Over and over again
