need opinions from people with decent taste (i.e. the MCRmy) XD

okay, so I'm crap at picking shoes, mainly cos I can never get overly enthusiastic about them like some other people can :/ But I have work experience soon, so I have to just try and look for the smartest thing possible for an office environment. The only thing is, the placement is only for 2 weeks, so to justify getting new shies, I'm gonna have to like them enough to want to wear them again, hence the slightly gothic nature of these ideas I've had. So what do you think? Are either of these appropriate? Or am I totally barking up the wrong tree?
