It's been 3 weeks..........

So, I got a bass guitar for Christmas, and I've been taking lessons for three weeks now. Apparently, according to my teacher, I'm already able to play songs now. After three weeks. Does anybody else get that?
He also made the mistake of telling me to pick some songs I would like to play on the bass. Now I got three pages, full of Green Day, AFI, MCR, Evanescence, a couple of 30 Seconds To Mars, Panic! at the Disco, "The Reason" by Hoobastank, "The Outsider" by A Perfect Circle, and "Lost it all" by Black Veil Brides.
