So does anyone else ever get really annoyed when you see people wearing band merch and you know they don't listen to the band? Like my mam just came home with a Rolling Stones t-shirt and I don't listen to them so I told her to bring it back to the shop. She couldn't understand why since I'm "into that kinda stuff" but you shouldn't wear a bands t-shirt if you don't listen to the band. It makes my day whenever I see people wearing MCR merch because it's nice to know that they have fans around here. But people always wear ACDC, Sex Pistols, the Rolling Stones and Nirvana t-shirts because its "trendy" and most of them don't even know who they are. There's nothing more annoying than when someone has a Nirvana t-shirt and doesn't even know who Kurt Cobain was. Like a few months ago I got dragged to see The Wanted and I don't like them but I had to go and this girl behind me was wearing a t-shirt that said "Cherry Bomb" she probably doesn't even know that its a song by The Runaways. Fair enough that it didn't say "The Runaways" on it so she probably didn't know that it was a band t-shirt because I'm pretty sure she wouldn't have worn it if she knew it was. Thats like when people wear MCR t-shirts to MSI concerts, you may aswell tell the band on stage that you'd rather be watching someone else. I don't know maybe overreacting but I'd feel bad for wearing a band t-shirt without even listening to them. I get that some people like all types of music and you might like both 1D and MCR and might own merch by both which I don't have a problem with but don't wear another bands t-shirt to someone elses show or wear a bands t-shirt if you don't even know who they are. I love wearing band merch, right now I've got a Foo Fighters t-shirt on but thats because I actually listen to their music.
