Headfirst for Halos Part 7

Gerard's POV:

Breaking out wasn't a problem but I'd forgotten how far a walk it was from our house to the graveyard. Mikey didn't say much and I could see fear in his hazel eyes. I felt bad from dragging him into it but at that point we were nearly there and there was no point turning back. "You know they might not even be here, zombies may be dead but they can still walk" he said as we came to the entrance, "I know but I have to try" I replied. Normally the graveyard was creepy with it's demon statues but being there in the middle of the night, especially when it was so cold that every time someone breathed you could see there breath and the fact that zombies were wondering about made it so much worse. I didn't want to admit I was afraid and I had to see Helena for myself. Something came up behind me and shook me, I spun around to see Frank and Ray laughing "You guys almost gave me a heart attack!" I exclaimed. Neither of them had seen anything on the way in, we ended up sitting behind one of the graves and just waited.
"It feels like we've been here for hours" Mikey said "I'll be back in a few minutes" he got up before we could say anything. It had only been around half an hour but it felt like much longer, how long did we actually intend on staying? A few minutes later we heard a moan, "Please tell me that was one of you?" Ray said to me and Frank, "No it-" Frank began "Shit! Mikey!!" I interrupted and got up. We looked around frantically until we heard a scream. "I think it came from over here" Frank said and lead the way, I found a shovel on the ground and figured that it would come in handy. I saw around 10 people, well zombies crowded around something and in the middle was Helena pinning Mikey to the ground! I froze, partly in fear and partly because Helena actually was a zombie. Her black hair was a mess and he cloths were tattered but it was still her. I actually recognized some of the zombies, they were the kids that went missing. Before I knew it Frank and grabbed the shovel and managed to get Helena off Mikey. "Run!" he screamed as we tried to escape.
We made it out and luckily none of them had followed us. "I'm so sorry" I said and hugged Mikey tightly. He didn't say anything but I could tell by the look on his face that this was only the beginning of something terrible.
