Total Desolation Part 45

Finally I looked at Aagneya, my mind made up, the decision made, I just had to accept.
Aagneya raised his eyebrows at me in question, wondering what my response would be. I nodded, it was a slight gesture, barely noticeable, but it changed the fate of so many people. Aagneya’s own face twisted into a smile, it was a evil smile, if I didn’t know that it was regarded towards others and not me, it would’ve scared the living shit out of me and I would’ve had nightmares for weeks. But either way that was a face I would see every time I blinked, and it would haunt me until the end, the second end.
I allowed myself to smile back, a quick little smirk, nothing too much, I wasn’t what he thought I was and I wouldn’t allow myself to become what he wanted of me, I just had to remain on top of the situation, keep control, if I lost it, we lost The Black Parade.
Aagneya took me by the arm and led me away from the room of hidden things, back out through the heavy curtain. He dragged me through the gray halls at great speeds, in a rush to take me somewhere. I stayed silent as he pulled me through the hallways.
When we finally emerged from the maze of hallways Aagneya turned and looked me over, fixing my hair and making sure I looked presentable. He planted a quick kiss on my lips as he pulled my hood up again. The he took my hand in his and led me forward, into a room that opened up to reveal a sort of theatre. The decaying seats were filled with Reapers that screeched at each other.
Aagneya dropped my hand and sent crackling blue lightning into the air above us, grabbing the attention on the Reapers and silencing them. Aagneya glanced at me just then, smiling at me before returning his attention back to the Reapers.
“Today we announce the invitation for a second ruler, one that will lead us in another direction but will also show us the way to power. Crystal,” Aagneya turned to me just then. “will you accept and become a ruler like me?”
My heart rate increased to the point where I thought everyone there could hear it thumping against my ribs, threatening to explode and tear me to pieces. Aagneya’s eyes bore into mine, I had already told him yes but I hadn’t told it to them yet. This would seal my fate, there was no undoing it after I answered here. If I changed my mind the Reapers would surely destroy me. I nodded slightly, then realizing that the Reapers wouldn’t see that slight gesture I cleared my throat, “Yes, I accept.”
Aagneya broke into a grin and the Reapers whooped, screeched, and hollered in joy as Aagneya lowered my hood to acknowledge my initiation and show them who I was so that I would be cleared.
What Aagneya did next surprised me. He swelled a ball of blue/black fire in his hand that seemed to float mid air and pushed it into my hand which sucked it up and sent an icy heat through my body. I looked at my left hand that had just sucked fire into itself, my inner wrist now had a birthmark type marking of a flame but it was a dark blue against my pale skin and black veins. I flexed my fingers to test that they still worked and was surprised when blue flames sputtered from them.
Aagneya smiled at my reaction and flicked his own blue spark of fire from his right hand and touched it to my flame. When the two blue flames touched they immediately lowered their temperature to a dull orange. I stared in curiosity at our combined flamed hands, completely forgetting about the screaming Reapers that were filing out of the theatre.
Aagneya smirked as he explained. “Alone we are stronger in our own ways, but together we are both weaker in power but stronger in intelligence. You have all my powers. The skill will come with practice.”
I nodded, absorbing the entire idea, wondering what else I could do, what else he could do. With these newfound powers I didn’t have to chant things, I didn’t have to put much thought into it either, it just happened in the way I moved. It would be a completely different concept for me, but who knew, maybe I could use this against him, it told me everything he could do, granted he would have better experience with it but I would easily catch on, as I always did.
