I made a sudden stop when we were by the factory and caught Raven off guard as he went flying off my bike. I laughed, and parked my bike just as the other two bikes came up next to me. Torture, Bomb and Fang all started laughing when they saw Raven emerging from the bushes that he was thrown into. He had a twig stuck in his hair and leaves stuck to him and he was covered in dirt.
“What the hell was that for!?”
“I told you the question was whether you could stay on or not.”
“So you purposely went from 130 mph to zero in a matter of seconds!?”
“I do that all the time, and yet I’ve never fallen off.”
“Next time we ride together I’m driving.”
“Not on my bike you’re not.”
“To hell with that.”
“Learn to hold on.”
“Oh I will after this little stunt.” He said, dusting himself off. I just laughed.
We all walked into the factory and went to the cafeteria. I grabbed a soda and sat down with some cookies. “You're welcome to anything in here.” I said, addressing the guys. They all nodded and Fang and Torture started looking thru the cafe for something to eat. Waterfall grabbed a bag of goldfish and sat down a few tables over. Raven sat himself down next to me.
“Can I help you?”
“Just sitting.”
“Well in case you haven’t noticed this cafeteria is filled with tables, you don’t have to sit next to me.”
“Am I not allowed to sit here?”
“Just saying.”
“Does it make you uncomfortable?”
“No.”
“Interesting”
“Yeah.” Thats a little creepery if you ask me. Torture and Fang sat down with Bomb at the other table with whatever snacks that had found.
Getting up I stated, “Well I feel like shit and I’m fucking disgusting, I’m going to go take a shower.” Turning back to Raven I said “Don’t get any ideas.”
He just looked at me innocently “me?”
I rolled my eyes and went upstairs and took my shower, thankfully it was uneventful.
When I came back down I found all four of them sitting at a table laughing. I went and took the last seat at the table, between Bomb and Raven. “What are we talking about?”
Raven looked at me, “Just swapping some war stories. From what I hear, you’re one crazy ass mofo.”
I smiled, “It happens.”
We all laughed. “Now then, down to business. This factory is too close to that town and we’re going to be discovered soon, we need to pack up and get out. Mostly it’s food and supplies, with a few personal things for Bomb and I. What about you guys? Do you have anything elsewhere that we can pick up?”
Raven spoke, “Who said we were staying?”
Torture and Fang both looked at him, Fang spoke, “Where else are we going to go, we have nothing, we might as well stay with them. They’re assets to us and you know it.”
“I’m aware.”
“Then why are you questioning whether we stay or not?”
“Because I can.”
This was getting annoying, “Are you guys staying or not?”
Raven looked at Torture and Fang, searching their faces, “I guess so.”
“Right well then, do you have anything to pick up from anywhere?”
I not three responses of “no.”
“Alright then lets get a move on, the faster we pack the faster we can leave.”
Fang spoke next, “What do you need help with?”
Bomb answered, “If you guys could pack up the cafeteria that would be awesome.”
Torture and Fang nodded and set off to start packing up the cafe. Waterfall and I got up to go upstairs and start packing our own things. “Go ahead I’ll be right up.” I said to Bomb. She gave me a look and went upstairs.
“Raven.”
“Hmmmm?’
“You alright?”
“Yeah, fine.”
“Listen, what happened back at the bridge, it wasn’t your fault, you couldn’t have stopped it.”
“Whatever.”
“Or is it your brother?”
He didn’t respond, so I’m assuming it was his brother. “Listen, if you need to talk I’m here.” He nodded. “C’mon we got a lot to pack.”
“My favorite.”
“Ha.”
I headed up the stairs to my room and packed it up, then went into Bomb’s room to help her. She was the first to speak, ”So, Raven?”
“He’s different and definitely into me.”
“Obviously, he jumped into the pond after you without a second thought. I heard the first splash and looked up right away, then I saw him jumping in after you, I came running right away.”
“Whatever, how’s your face?”
“Sore.”
“I warned you, several times.”
“I know.”
We finished packing everything up into my black LF-A Lexus. Now it was up to figuring out how we were transporting three motorbikes and my car.
“How are we transporting all the vehicles?” It was Bomb.
“I’m not sure.”
“Well obviously we have to have three of us riding the motorbikes, and then I guess the other two will take your car.”
“Nobody's touching my bike.”
“Ok so you’re on your bike, and I’m on mine, I would think it to be natural for Torture to take the bike he found. That leaves Fang and Raven for the car.”
I groaned, I didn’t like people driving my car, but they definitely weren’t driving my bike.
“So who’s driving?” Bomb asked.
I looked both Fang and Raven up and down. Fang looked more or less like he hadn’t ever driven before and I definitely didn’t want someone learning how to drive in my car. Raven, well he was Raven, I didn’t know how much I trusted him with my car, I don’t want it destroyed. I groaned again. “Unfortunately I have to say Raven, though I’d much rather drive it myself.”
Raven gave me a devilish smirk and held up his hands ready for me to throw him my keys. I groaned again and threw him the keys, “You kill her and I kill you.”
“Define kill.” Now he was just being an asshole cause he knew I didn’t want anyone driving my car. I glared at him and chucked him the finger, he laughed.
I hopped on my bike and waited for everyone to be ready to leave. Giving one last quick look at the factory which we had been occupying for the last month and a half, I revved my engine and put my ear buds in, blasting my music to full blast.
I flew forward on the open road, cranking it to about 120 mph. I felt totally free from everything out here on the open road, no pressure, no problems, nothing to worry about. It was just me and the open road, well besides the two bikes and my car following me, but I could ignore that. I let my music transport my mind away, helped by the open road surrounded by nothing but the great outdoors. I loved to just zone out in the middle of everything with the scenery flashing past and music drowning out my thoughts, especially during the night, my favorite time of day.
We stopped at one point where I’d say it was about 3:15, give or take; I was usually pretty good at guessing the time, at an old abandoned gas station. I was hoping there would be gas here, otherwise I didn’t know if we would make it to where I was taking us. Luckily there was and we all filled up.
Waterfall was the first to ask the question that I knew they were all thinking, “Where exactly are we going?” This was followed by a chorus from the others of ‘yeah’s and where are we going’s.’
“Away.” I stated simply.
“Where is away?”
“You’ll find out when we get there.”
“Any hints?”
“You’ve heard of the place.”
“All of us?”
“No, just you.”
“Ugh.”
“You’ll like it there.”
“Are you sure?”
“If you don’t like it the world will explode.”
“Interesting.”
I laughed and hopped back on my bike, leaving Bomb and the rest to their thoughts on where we may or may not be going.
We drove on through the rest of the night until I saw the sun rising in front of me. I continued on, not long to go yet. The scenery turned completely forest and outdoorsy on both sides, unlike the rural scenery it was as we made the trip here, stopping for gas only that once.
